I've heard numerous times that torties have one of the best personlities of any breed. Mine is SO funny. She's almost 7 and she runs around like a kitten. She's very active, and crazy with her vocal range. She "talks" all the time! And I swear she smiles at me when she's totally happy and content. Anyone else have any similar experiences?

Yes---my son has a "tortie" and she's a honey. Many years ago, I had one myself, and she was a sweetheart, too. They do have very nice personalities, I'd say right under that of the run-of-the-mill black/gray striped Tabbie cat----these are the VERY sweetest ones I've ever known, and I am highly allergic to them, so that option is out for me. I have a beautiful pure white, long-haired Turkish Angora, but he doesn't have the best personality in the world, I'll tell you that. He can be very "moody", and torties are not like this. You are very lucky to have such a sweet kitty. May you both have many great years together.

My cat had breath that smelt like rotting seafood. (he was a rescue cat). The vet said he had gum disease and would probably lose all his teeth eventually. We trird to clen his teeth but he awasn.t having any of it. WE then put him on dental cat biscuits and his breath improved dramatically. It wasn't perfect but much improved and as long s he stayed on then and has them every day his breath was ok and his gum disease held in abeyance.

Mine is named Sooty and she is fully grown now, she's independant on herself but friendly, she's funny with strangers, she's the boss of our other 2 cats.
When she was young she was very scratchy, and very naughty by climbing up the flyscreen, scratching the furniture and very hypoactive, she's fine now. I do think she smiles at me at times, It's good to see her so happy.

YUP! My cat is incredibly vocal - always talking to me. When I pet him he looks at me with "lovey eyes" and he is so sweet and affectionate. I was beginning to wonder if he isn't part siamese, he doesn't look it but I hear this is their personality too.

Regardless, we are lucky to have such awesome cats!

I have two and they have very different personalities. One is timid and the other wants to be loved and talks to me all the time.
