We had this stray cat hanging around our house for some time, my mom has been feeding it since, well, it was born. Mom finally felt sorry for it, out in the cold, (I live in Ontario where it has been -30 degrees celcius on average) and finally adopted it, we can't think of a good name though. It is a short-haired taby that has a lot of white and very light brown fur, aqua coloured eyes. And has the nicest personality you can imagine, it, of course, is an unfixed male and loves its belly rubbed which is unusual for an unfixed male. It will lick you, if you let it, and every time we try to train it to use the sandbox, it just lays in it like "I'll sleep here, only because you wish me to". I've never seen a cat like it, we just can't think of a good name. Any suggestions???

Considering that it came in from out in the cold, why not call it Shivers?

For his personality why not Sandy? If he has a white left foot........... Lefty, Or Lucky? He is one Lucky cat that his life was spared. Or just watch him and come up with a name that fits his personality.Baxter,or any male people name will also do.I have a friend who named her dog Jimmy, and another friend how's husband named her cat Bill. I had a girl cat named Gracie. There is always Tommy, I had a Tommy many years ago. But do go with his personality!Go for something different. Please get him neutered. He will be spraying urine all over the house and that smell is very bad.

Sounds like a very nice and gorgeous cat. I'm not good at names but...take a good look at the cat and if u have 5 minutes just follow the cat around and see what it does and how it acts to its surroundings. Pick something fun! Good Luck!

I foster kittens and the hardest part is always a name. Try giving it a few days - or just try calling him a bunch of random names. You're bound to find one that fits eventually (and there's no real rush for a name...the right one will come along).
If you still want suggestions, though, my last few foster cat names:
pica, pixel, dot, mocha, max, gryphon, cleo, molly, nelly, monkey, chai, poe, ponder, scooter, newton, lewis, flora, connor, lucy, linus, winston, matilda, chewy, alice, margaret, mitts, olive, ducky, iris, chairman meow, felix, princess mushroom, neko, ted, meko, maki, tess, albert, becks, pirate, cole, maya, and kit.

I just got two new kittens and had the same problem. We wanted a original name- not something that you often hear other people name theor pets. I looked on the web and found this website and found a great name. Godo luck!

Can not help you with the name but the sleeping in the box. The cat I rescued would do that in the very beginning because They are marking it with there sent. Very strange but it makes sense.
