Bitter Apple does NOT work. I have tried it already. He chews a little bit at a time, gets used to the flavor, and then continues to chew. He's chewed through internet cables, speaker wires, and my phone charger wire (while it's plugged in). He also scratches his claws on the couch, carpet, and rugs- no matter what we try!

Any suggestions?

I had a kitty that did that for a bit, but then I asked my friends at the local humane society where I adopted him what to do. They told me to get some Feli-way. It's kitty pheromones and it calms them so they aren't so wild. Bitter Apple is more for dogs. I don't know who told you to use that. They're crazy.... Good luck and remember, Feli-way!

I agree Bitter Apple does NOT work. You can either

A)Bait your cat into chewing on somthing else by putting cat nip or something on it and get a scratching pole.

B) By decoy wires and cover them in catnip ALSO let him no that those are his and get a scratching pole.

Don't you just love it? They are destructive little creatures aren't they? Try tobasco sauce all over the cables and wires. Get him a nice sissel scratching post and spray him with water when he is directing his teething and clawing on something you don't want him to touch.

Use a spray bottle when he is chewing something you don't want him to chew. Also cut his claws.

Spay the cat with water when they do something like that. But if that doesn't work...seek vet help. Good Luck!
