Hickory dickory dock...it's midnight, the signal for the mouse to run up the clock. Then, an hour later, he runs down again - only to be met by the "The Mouse Police who never sleeps" (see link below, great song by Jethro Tull). Poor mouse would have been better off staying in the clock and hoping a kind human would come by from time to time to feed him! Our cats are so well fed and looked after that they never go after mice, I'm very glad to say.
