It's a warm soft cuddly place where Mom/Dad seems to prefer to sleep. So must be a good safe spot for fuzz ball.
Now our kitten slept in bed because she wasn't accustomed to being away from her litter mates.
But you said cat then didn't you.
Some mouse (are mousers) ,some cuddle, some just like the hotel accomidations...

It means your cat wants to be with you.. my cats all sleep up around my head/pillow. My cats want to sleep on the side I'm facing/ because I will turn to face the other direction and they will change over to the other side of the bed to be where they can feel my breath. It's something from their kittenhood, a security thing. It's cool though.

Kitty just wants to be near his/her people. My Siamese likes sleeping on my bed because I have the electric blanket on at night and she loves the extra warmth. I have to be careful if I roll over at night so that I don't kick her off the bed (she's a foot puss).

It's nice, warm and cozy and it has your scent!! So your cat likes the bed because it smells like family and the cat feels safe there.

That he/she loves you and wants to be part of the family.

Lions lay around in the grass all day and I think cats still have that instinct to be part of the "pride"

It means that you have some kitty litter in your bed and you should shut the door so he can't!

I love my cat... but until he learns to use the toilet and wipe his little butt... No bed for him!
