Scooby is between 8 and 9 months now and I thought that was it really and he wouldn't get much bigger. However I was outside last night and I saw a gigantic (well compared with scoob anyway) white cat! Plus the other older cats in the estate seem alot bigger than scooby.

When is he gonna stop growing?

I just adopted a female short haired (calico colored) kitten on Saturday! She is 6 months old, spayed, up-to date on shots, and just had another check-up with the vet yesterday! She is not declawed! I also have a 5 year old male (polydactyl trait) Cat that is making her seem very unwelcomed! A couple years ago he was living with other cats (kittens even and was fine)! Now everytime he sees her or gets close to her he hisses and attempts to lunge at her! He smells her things but is very controlling towards her freedom (meaning he wont let her have any)! I know these things take time but Im a little concerned because she is becoming bold and wants to check him out and he isnt having it (he is normally a very sweet cat... my baby)! What are some subtle ways to bring them towards accepting eachother (she feared him deathly just 2 days ago but now she is getting ballsy and has had enough... She wants to roam and play)? They are seperated while Im at work!

Our cat, who is 14 and the best cat one could ever want has lived in our current home all his life. We are buying a new home and moving soon. My main concern is the home we are moving too has all hardwood floors. Our cat uses our carpet now as a scratching post so I will need to get him something new to use (and not my NEW Leather sofa either!) I'm afraid since he is so use to using the carpet that the stress of the move and lack of carpet will cause him to start using the furniture instead. I am looking for suggestions on the best type of scratching post and the best way to get him accustomed to the new home (other than the obvious of same feeding bowls, same litter box etc).

We have a cat that when it meows it sounds exactly like its speaking, "Hello". Has anyone else experienced this or should we have the cat exercised? (p.s. I wouldn't really do that to a cat lol)

My male cat has a chronic bladder infection. The vet told me sometimes cats (especially males) have this problem for seemingly no reason and the only cure is $1800 surgery, constant meds, or sometimes they just get over it after 3-5 years if you can afford medication for that long. I've dropped almost $200 in vet bills and antibiotics (methionine to decrease crystallization, amoxicillain, + 2-3 others) and can't afford it anymore. I really don't want to put him down but I don't have anymore money for vet bills. I almost didn't get MY bills paid last month. Are there any HOME REMEDIES I can try to cure/help it? Does apple cider vinegar work for cats (I read it does for dogs)? He's on Purina urinary tract food.

I heard from a guy I was dating that 'dogs are better than cats because dogs save lives while cats eat peoples' corpses when someone dies alone in their home'. I can't find proof of this windbag's comment anywhere. I think it's an urban legend, but he swears that coroners say it all the time when they find dead people that have cats in their home and no one comes to find the person dead for a while. If you can find proof of this, please let me know the site. Thanks!

PS--Yes, the guy's a douchebag by the way.

she only does it after she eats. I've tried moistening her food to see if that would help, but it didn't. she acts like she is swallowing it back down, but i was concerned because I heard it could be a sign of feline asthma.

I have 2 indoor cats, they are both one and I had them from kittens. Part of the rehoming agreement is that they are kept as indoor cats due to the busy road I live on. Just recently one has been meowing at the window and I think she may have seen other cats and want to go out. There are always cats going missing and being run over, so I really don't want to let them out, but I've seen cat leads in the shops and wondered whether anyone acutally walks there cats?

My Cat has been sick the past few days. He's outside 90% of the time and it's been chilly lately which I think got him sick. He won't use a litter box anymore so I have no choice but to let him out.

I won't be able to take him to the Vet for a couple of weeks. A friend recommended wrapping an Immodium in some lunch meat to get rid of his diarrhea. So I did. But, what can I do about his runny nose and sneezing?

It's been almost a year since she's been fixed, obviously the vet shaved her, but the hair never grew back. I'm kind of worried, I mean why wouldn't the hair grow back? She has a huge patch of just .. bald under her stomach. Did something happen, did he cut her hair too short, and it's just never going to grow back. Another question .. recently I've notice she has a few smalll bald spots, one on her hind leg, and one little one on her side. Does maybe her breed have problems with hair growth, or is she doing it herself, maybe she's nervous? Any help would be much appreciated.

Some people look after there dogs alot better than their cats. Why? You don't see as many stray dogs running around as you do cats. Why do you think this is? What can we do to change this?

My cat is coming off of a bad sinus infection, however after sub q shots and oral feeding she still does not want to eat her food that I lay out for her, she'll munch on a chip that i eat out of my bag but thats it..

Now they have me on an appetite stimulant that she hates everytime I give it to her she's fighting me and drooling it out because of the taste, the vet says just give it to her, so now im looking into compunding the stimulant so I can shoot a fluid down her throat instead of watching her foam and drool like I was trying to kill her

can anyone with similar experience help me?? I cant keep taking her to the vet for fluid shots, she keeps urinating in her carrier a major sign of stress..

please help

My 7 month old kitten has just been spayed today, but i forgot to ask the vet how long it will be take for her fur to grow back where it was shaved off for the op. Also, will she be allowed outside under adult supervision this weekend?

We had a saftey lock, it was kind of like a hinge, that was placed on the doorframe but could be moved over to act like a dead bolt. Anyway, our Burmese got into the habit of jumping up and hitting it when she wanted to go out. So, we left one day and came back and couldn't get in because she had hit it and jammed the door.

We had to break into an upstairs window in order to get in.

Anyone with similiar experiences?

Lately my kitty has been spilling water from her dish all over the floor and makes a huge mess! She puts her paw in it like she is 'digging' in the water, exactly like she does in her cat box. When I do catch her I spray her with my spray bottle and say 'No!' but it doesn’t seem to help. She is such a goofy girl! But I am baffled, I don't know why she has all of a sudden started doing this, and how can I stop her...my floor is always wet now!?

my cat is (2 years old neutered) loves to go outside and hunt and I'm ok with it. he was beautiful cat and now becuase of this trips (2-4 days out) he looks terrible: his fur is not shiny anymore, very skiny and just don't look good to me. I know he is not sick, but what I can do to make him look better, I don' t want to lock him home. May be there is some special food or vitamins?
