Lately my kitty has been spilling water from her dish all over the floor and makes a huge mess! She puts her paw in it like she is 'digging' in the water, exactly like she does in her cat box. When I do catch her I spray her with my spray bottle and say 'No!' but it doesn’t seem to help. She is such a goofy girl! But I am baffled, I don't know why she has all of a sudden started doing this, and how can I stop her...my floor is always wet now!?

Some cats loves water, its also a fascination, a new experience for them, she should not be getting into trouble for it, its fun and she is probably bored

Some cats like to drink the water off their paws and play in water. There is nothing wrong, it's normal.

Just out a towel under his dish

Yeah my cat loves water too, no one can leave a glass with water anywhere in the house because she will spill everything. She also likes to sit by the pool and stick her paw inside. Get a water little feeder thing.

Maybe she's warm and trying to cool off....you can put a towel under her dish and than the floor won't get wet all the time. It might deter her from doing it anymore.

My cat does this too....I just ended up having to get a bigger, heavier water dish that he can't knock over. It has worked so far...he still tries to knock it over, but he isn't strong enough.

Water is a clear liquid. They can see through it, but it's moving at the same time. They can't grasp the concept of how it can be flowing or how they can feel it and see right through it.

My cats like water to so I leave water dripping in the bath tub for them they love to slap it when it drips, its so fun to watch. in the Summer one of my cats will even fall asleep in the sink ( there is no water in it then).
