...and vesectomy for male cat? I don't want castration for my kitties. I just want to stop them from reproduction. I had my other cats fixed outside the US and their test icles are still intact. How come they remove them here?

Good question! I googled the matter and this site has a comment about it: http://www.hdw-inc.com/spayneuter.htm (Scroll down.)

Call around to different veterinarians and ask if they provide that option.

They remove them becuase it cuts down on aggressive behavior and the cat looses some of its instinct to be a "TOM cat" and visit neighboring cats at night. Vasectomy is not 100% effective either. If you read the literature, often times the vas deference can grow back or have more than two or three present.

Vasectomy does not stop them from 'spraying', roaming, fighting, getting certain types of cancer, etc. - so it is not done here, and I am surprised it would be done that way anywhere. Here is an alternative that would be better: http://www.neuticles.com/index1.html

But, I (& many others) consider it a sign of being a responsible pet owner to have them visibly removed.

Having the testicles removed does not harm them in anyway:
we remove them here, since they are not being used, it cuts down on the chances for testicular cancer.
Please get boy neutered.
thanks, L
