I heard from a guy I was dating that 'dogs are better than cats because dogs save lives while cats eat peoples' corpses when someone dies alone in their home'. I can't find proof of this windbag's comment anywhere. I think it's an urban legend, but he swears that coroners say it all the time when they find dead people that have cats in their home and no one comes to find the person dead for a while. If you can find proof of this, please let me know the site. Thanks!

Well, any animal would eat away at their deceased owners body if they are hunry enough. Its disgusting but dogs are worse- they still have so many relations to wolves. My dog is an Australian Shepherd and sometimes he hears coyotes calling and he calls back. It's the call of the wild. Every dog has it.

Both have been known to nibble on their owners when trapped in a home with a deceased person. Cats may be a little more quick to decide that you're edible than a loyal dog, but when driven by necessity they'll all chow on people. So will birds, if you were curious...

I wouldn't believe a word of it! I've heard where someone is found dead in their home, & the cat is watching over them. It's a cat's nature to nurture. This simply isn't true. PLEASE report Jack O. Just check out his questions & answers. They are horrid. We don't need sick people like that on this site.
