Definitely use canned food and 'nuke it a little- 5 or 10 seconds. Remember, the smellier the better! My old guy wouldn't notice a thing unless it was stinky fish. Stank to high heaven, but he ate it! Try mixing the appetite stimulant with the juice from a can of tuna, hopefully the tuna smell will overwhelm her aversion to the med's. Good luck!!

I would take the cat to another veterinarian, and quickly. It sounds very much like your cat may be diabetic. By your description she is not wanting to eat and is urinating a lot..both classic signs of diabetes. If she is not, that's great, but I think you need to get a second opinion. Whatever your current vet is doing is clearly not working. If the second opinion concurrs with the first then at least you will be confident about the treatment you are giving, and perhaps the second vet has some suggestions that will help you cat to eat more. On the other hand if there is something else wrong you need to find out what it is before it's too late. Diabetes in a cat can progress extremely quickly and cats are not like people - a diabetic coma that can come on very suddenly is pretty much the end for a lot of cats.
I hope I am wrong about this but the behavior you describe is exactly what I saw when my cat became diabetic. She's worth a second opinion. Good luck to both of you.

What my vet said yesterday: A cat won't eat what she can't smell. I've been calling my vet because I can't afford to take her there constantly. I was giving her penecillin shots and realized that oral meds won't work if the cat is drooling. The penecillin actually worked and she stopped drooling but now has a serious viral/bacterial infection. I just called the vet every time I had a question. The vet also told me to give her pills, invest in a pill shooter or hold the cat by the head, open her mouth with your pinky and thumb, lift her up a bit and throw the pill in and shut her mouth. I did it this morning and lost some blood, but my cat is feeling a little bit better. She starting to eat some wet food. Also, my vet said that since my cat couldn't smell, to invest in stinky cat food (usually wet food) to help out.

How old is your cat? Worth extending her life, I am guessing because your vet is giving you something to get her to eat. I have a cat I have to straight up pill her and life sux for her but I would do it. She is eating the chip b/c of the salt so you know she's hungry.
Is she still drinking water? If yes, that is a Good sign.
With canned food, I heated it once for my cat. Put it in a *microwave safe* dish and only heat it for maybe 6-11 seconds depending on your microwave. You want to enhance the odor of the food so the cat can smell it better. Get something really smelly, too, like the Friskies sliced beef or some type of tender cuts. I would get something you don't mind smelling, i.e. I hate the smell of fish so would use chicken, turkey or beef.
Get her to eat ANY type of cat food then wean her back onto her regular crunchies or canned food.
Good luck!!

One thing I tried when my cat was feeling sick and needed fluids and nutrition was draining the water (make sure it's not oil-packed) off a can of tuna and putting it beside her water dish. Since it's highly aromatic, hopefully your cat will be able to smell it, and it might entice her to drink a bit because of their love of meat.
Also, I'd keep her away from "human food" for awhile. There's no nutrition (for cats anyway) in chips.
If she doesn't eat by tomorrow, though, I'd take her back to the vet and have her observed overnight.

He eats human beings food considering which you supply it to him. he will consume cat food if he has no different determination. purchase canned cat food, in categories. you will quickly discover out his favorites. some cats do like the ingredients you listed yet regrettably none comprise the supplementations and different food a cat needs. without Taurine in his food plan, his eyesight basically isn't the stable or ought to fail. A cope with at times won't harm him yet he might desire to consume cat food.

One time my cat wouldn't eat cause it had a gum infection. It sounds like your vet is already on top of it though, just do what they say. You'll be good.

Leave her wet food: some real stinky like fish flavored food, and stop giving her your food. She will eat eventually.....
cut pill in half and cradle her like a baby: drop down her throat..... cats have a great gag reflex, she wont choke. She needs her meds.
