I enjoy feeding the wild birds especially during the winter. Staying warm and finding food is probably not easy for them. Are there any precautions I need to take because of the bird flu other than washing my hands?

I put 2 bird feeders out in our yard; 1 with peanuts and 1 with seeds but despite there being a few birds around and about (I live in a terraced house in the centre of town), none have come to feed. Is it because we have a dog?? The feeders are dangling from the washing line, well out of reach of the local cats and our dog and have been there for about 2 weeks...

Sponsored by The National Audobon Society and Cornell University ... birdsource.org
For 15 mins Sat Feb 17 and Sat Feb 18 (2 remaining days) count the birds you see and then go to the website or mail them in, if you'd prefer, to report your numbers. The website has a worksheet and a down-load to help. This takes only your time. Anyone and everyone can participate, alone or with others. Great activity to do with the kids and teach them about wildlife and conservation. If you enjoy birds, this is a chance for you to help scientist track the birds across North America. Happy Birding!

Have you heard of this? Would you be interested or did you participate? Do you know someone you can share this information with?

I've had my Grey for 15 years and my wife and I are seriously considering getting a macaw. We now have the space and the financial means to raise one correctly. I'm looking specifically at the Blue and Golds, Greenwings, and the Hyacinths. I'd like the breeder prices, not pet store.

Thanks for any info!

I mean seriously, why are they all cooped up in some little cages when all they want to do is soar? They must reach for the sky and spread their wings to fly, fly. BIRDS SHOULD BE FREEEEEEEEEEE!!!
