They have had 3 of them in a cage at a local petstore here since well before Christmas...
The price tag on the cage is 1500.00 per bird.

from what I know, the answer oogajones gave is about the closest to what I see. Of course breeders and stores will be different somewhat, and you sound as if you are aware of all the care they take.. thank GOD. Hyacinths are hard to find. I know of one blue and gold now at our local bird rescue, it depends on the state you are in, and rescues are great, as they do need to stop the cycle and go to good people willing to properly work for and care for them. Most rescues require you to come and see if you can bond with the bird you want over some time, and they are alot less cost, but they are assured it will go to a good home. Great too if you have patience in case it has any issues from rehoming. Most have a few, but can usually be worked through with love and knowledge. What state are you in? I know of a sweet severe macaw with its original owner that is only 3, and dont know if you really want one larger than that for sure, but the owner is ill and I'd like to find her a great permanent new home. She talks, loves to play is healthy. But is not quite as large as the ones you mentioned. Other than that, Birdtalk magazine ads in the back go by state and list breeders.... but i dont know which are reputable and which are not. Take care and good luck!

a Blue and Gold will be about $1000-$1200. A Greenwing will range from about $1500-$2000. The cheapest I have found Hyacinth baby from a breeder is $8500, on average they seem to be between $10,000 and $12,000. Hopefully you can find a breeder close to where you live so you can meet your baby before bringing him home and you won't have to pay shipping charges.

They are constantly up for rescue on petfinder.com and through bird rescue sites. I've seen them for under $1000 from people who didn't realize the committment.
Make sure you have a plan for them for the rest of their lives. They can easily live 50-65 years, so if this is into your retirement (and beyond), be sure they are taken care of for that long.

Knowing what country you are in would have made it easier to answer your question. We are not all in America and America is not the only place in the world where these birds are kept or sold!
A Hyacinth is around $AUD50,000.00 and green is about $AUD12,000.00
But of course that depends on where in the World is Habanaro Jack

I would check your local paper and your local bird clubs. What area of the country do you live in? That really depends on the cost of the bird.
