They sleep across from each other they fight over who a space and they are a Male and Female but they don't seem to get along with each other they do everything separately. They peck at each other all the time but not playing around. The only time they ever get close is when they get scared. I don't know What the problem seems to be.

redsponge asks many of the questions I was going to ask, but generally speaking, if you can tell they are NOT kidding, it could be more than just determining the pecking order... and you may end up with a dead bird one day. how long have you had them? if you had one first, it probablylooks at you as its property and is jealous. It could also be hormonal, spring is coming, and they get wierd during beginning of mating season sometimes. What is their out of cage area like? maybe something nearby is irritating them also. I would definately put them in sep. cages for awhile, give them equal time with you outside the cage.. i HOPE you have the wings trimmed!!! if not, please get this done and learn how to keep it up, or you will be looking for one outside soon. After awhile of sep. cages, and equal time with you outside the cage, gradually move the cages closer.. it may take time, and eventually you can put the cages side to side and see how they react then. They can be very possessive of their person. If its hormonal, I'd separate them, as there are far too many breedings and birds in need of foster care anyway, and sometimes that can get so aggressive its not pretty. I wouldnt personally take the chance. I hope this helps, I definately wouldnt leave them together for now. I had two conures, small parrots, that just hated each other for no reason other than id had one longer, and i guess it took the newer one as a threat. they bond strongly to owners. Some just cannot be put together, period.

Just like people, just because the birds are male and female, this is not a guarantee that they will get along. If they are fighting, then they need to be seperated to keep them from hurting or killing each other.

I hope this helps.

Did you get the both birds at the same time? If not, maybe one resents the other - do you think the cage is big enough for both? Or is there another pet that agitates them near by? You may have to end up separating them. How long have they been in the same cage together?

They are probably getting ready to mate. I have had two parakeets for about 3 years, and they have mated twice. Each time before they mated they got in fights for a while. Don't worry its natural!

The cage might be to small for the 2 of them...Whats the size? Females are ussually more agressive than males. Are you sure they aren't to females.

Place more perches in the cage and maybe get a bigger cage OR seperate them in different cages.

you're to three extent besides the undeniable fact that the reality you've an regularly scheduled assembly will be regarded upon as some aspect more beneficial. in my view i imagine it is alright to be associates and as long as his better 0.5 knows about it and it would not bypass the different strains i does no longer difficulty about it.

I would recommend seperating them. Also check to see if there is anything that is agitaing them like a different pet.

The best thing to do is to seperate them. Put one in a cage put the other one in another cage.
