what do you want the color for? if it is to make your own toys, I was told by several different avian vets, and have also read online in bird groups, that it is much safer to take unsweetened koolaid, mix with hot water in a container, then paint it on the wood and let dry. It doesnt hurt htem, and they like certain tastes.Certain ones make prettier colors, like blueberry, cherry, lime, orange. you can also soak many pieces of smaller wood chunks with holes already drilled in the container overnight.Dry then make the toys. If it is for color to their food... try the premade colored type of pellets. you usually only need the pellets as 100% of the diet, and with water, they dont need seeds, they will pick out seeds and tend to not eat the nutritious things. I use Roudybush pellets, they are all one color, so mine dont pick out the colors they dislike and waste. they love it and its excellent. If its food color like in people food youve made and want to give them some,,,, Id try to avoid it if possible, their systems are very different from ours, I wouldnt chance it myself. TAke care..

Food colouring isn't poisonous to people in the amounts we use to colour food, but you intend to use it over a long period of time.
Birds can eat yew berries that are toxic to humans. One type of avacado is lethal to parrots.
We are not identical to birds and you should check with the manufacturer and a vet before you go ahead.
You should also tell the buyers that you have dyed the birds.
Canaries don't have a red gene and I suppose if you offered me a red canary I would assume you had dyed it. I think its dishonest. The court might agree and you could end up repaying the purchase price.
Plus blue and yellow make green and I wouldn't want a green canary.

The food coloring is not poisonous to HUMANS, dolt.
For birds it damages the liver and the kidneys.
Professionally, I don't care if you've been using it for "years." Why don't you just spray them down with coloring, just like they do with the poached birds brought in from Indonesia. I'm being facetious, you little troll.

I think it is disgusting to feed any artificial colouring to any creature for any reason. This is for your own gratification, or financial gain if you sell the poor birds. Not for the good of the canary, shame on you

It is not recommended to use food coloring that is meant for human consumption. Just because it is not poisonous for humans doesn't mean that it won't hurt the birds.

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/4BVlT
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
