rattle the cage a bit.. see if it wakes. If not... Im so sorry. BUT; many conures absolutely LOVE to sleep that way, Ive had 2 that love to sleep curled up in their bowl, one i had to put a towel at bottom of cage, it had a sleeping hut but woudlnt use it, it loved to snuggle into the towel and sleep in all wierd positions. Ive fostered many that do this too.. seems to be a conure thing, but ive seen other breeds do it occasionally. But a gentle shake of the cage will tell you. God Bless. .... and experts recommend taking an expired bird to be examined so you can know what was wrong, it may have had a birth defect, swollowed a piece of a toy, who knows. but is good to know in case you need to change something.

Its not normal for a bird to sleep on its back
id try polking it a little to wake it up or shake the cage a little
if that doesnt work them take him out and hold him
if that doesnt work them im afraid he's dead

Hi there, I have a green linnie, who sleeps on his back all the time. He even sometimes curls up in the bottom of his cage and sleeps on his side. I have pictures of this for those that don't believe. What kind of bird do you have? conures and certin parakeets do this more often then we think. Best of luck.

If he is on his back and been asleep for a day, he has probably passed away. Try picking him up, if he does not move, then it is obvious.

If this is a serious question, I'm afraid he is dead. This is not normal behavior for a bird.

Wait a few days. If he begins to smell, he wasn't sleeping.
