Cockatoo- a couple if hundred dollars

Cage- even more then the bird it self, if you get one which is appropriately sized it can cost near $1000

Food- every single day you will need to buy fresh friut andveggies, seed, treats, pasts, bread and many many other types of food to feed it so quite expensive

Toys- destructive animals means you'll have to replace the toys a lot and have lots of toys so they don't get bored, also very expensive!

Damdge costs- you have to let your bird out every single day for a minimum of 2 hours! This is the minimum, the more time the better. In tis time a lot of damage can be done to your house so this is also another costs to think about.

Vet bills- your bird will need regular vet visits so you must be prepared to pay these.

And the biggest cost of all...

Time- your bird will need as much personal interaction as you can possible give it, but at least 2 hours a day (separate to it's free flying time). You must provide this or it will become bored. These birds are very, very smart and develop problem behavior such as screaming and bighting when they do not receive the attention they need. When Cockatoos scream, they really scream. A cockatoo flying so far away form my house i can barely hear it can still be heard when they call out to each other. Cockatoos also live for over 50 years. Are you willing to provide this amount of care for that whole time? If you're 20 now you'll be taking care of this bird until you are 70.

Please think about all of these costs before you decide to buy nay birds.
