My toddler son always cries when he does, and we are both afraid of dogs. Another annoying thing is the dog tries to dig tunnels under the fence. I want the dog to either respect us or ignore us.

sad question: where do horses go when they are old and no longer useful? this applies to race horses, tourist horses (calesa) and others. i hope they are not eaten, but given due respect in their final days.

I live in E Tennessee.
I have 2 horses. I usually get square bales, but hay is nearly impossible to get this year.
I have a friend that is having to sell their cattle (can't feed them), and they have some round bales that will be left. I can get their bales, get them to my pasture, but I don't have a tractor to move them around. Need suggestions of any other ways I could move them? I need to put them out one at a time because my horses are gluttons and the bales would not last all winter... any suggestions?

Cage, seed mix, mineral block, a treat stick or food, a book on them, vitamins, toys and what else?

I do have a credit card in case the bird needs to be vetted. This isn't an impulse purchase. I've wanted one all this year and would rather bring one home now than in the cooler days soon ahead.

With all you folks writing about the various 'whisperers' (horse, dog, cat, bird, etc., etc.) I am wondering if any of you can explain the manner and means by which the mystical 'whisperer' works?

My kitty, Lilja, had to be put asleep about a week ago because she had cancer. There was nothing more we could do. She was the sweetest cat.. :( We rescued her from a shelter a few years ago when she was a kitten. How do I feel better? I keep thinking of her - she was the best cat in the world.

Yesterday, me and my mother decided to rescue two more cats. They are both kittens, and would have been euthanized within the next week if we wouldn't have adopted them. I hope that is not a mean thing to do considering that Lilja had to be put asleep. I would never try to replace her. My mom said that if Lilja's spirit comes around, she may appreciate the fact that we saved these kitties just like we saved her. Do you think that's true?

I decided to set a picture of her as my desk top background and my mom told me to put little treats out every now and then so if Lilja's spirit does come around, she'll know that we love her. :(

My little brother is grieving as well. How can I help him?

When I pet my cat sometimes she gently wags her tail back and forth, or up and down, every few seconds, sometimes stroking my hand. I always thought it was a sign of affection, but my friend said that meant she was annoyed or irritated. So which one is it?

I have had my turtle for about 7 months now and he has been doing great. Recently I noticed that the underside of his shell has been peeling a little bit, but yesterday it was like the 1st layer was all coming off and hanging just about off. He still seems perfectly fine....is he just shedding?? Or is there something I should be worried about, other than that he's acting perfectly normal.
I don't want to take him to the vet if this is normal, please help

Okay, well I breed guppies, and everytime I get babies, they die! I have a seperate 1 gallon tank for them, with a thermometer, a BIT of gravel, a silk plant, an under-gravel filter, and a light. Okay, so that tank is at 73 ferenheit. Don't tell me I need a 10 gallon, because I don't have the money and the room! Anyways, so everytime my guppy gives birth, the fry are healthy. Then some start to go missing. I checked yesterday, and some of my fry had pointed tails! The next day, those ones died! Are they deformed, or just really diseased? Someone please answer!

Thanks........

And some of you are going to say how could I even notice something like this. Well he was looking out the window at another dog that came up on our porch. So I walked over to get him out of the window cause he gets excited. So while I'm over there he smells really bad. I thought maybe he farted cause he was excited. Well Then I sat on the couch and noticed that his butthole was open, Like he was getting ready to do a #2 or something. But it just stayed open. It smells horrible so I put him outside. Does anyone know why he would do this?

He has't had any 'aqccidents' anywhere, but this worries me even more as i would rather he was having accident than not going to the toilet at all.
He hasnt had much human contact so is very timid.
This is making things a little harder.
Please help!

One of my dogs (Digger) died yesterday morning and I think that my other dogs are grieving. Digger was run over and my other two dogs saw her body. My boy dog sort of looked at Diggers body then turned away but my girl dog (who was also Diggers mother) sniffed her body as to see why she was not waking up.

I don't think that my girl dog remembers that shes Diggers mother but since it happened both my dogs haven't been themselves. They're heads are always looking towards the ground and they don't seem happy.

Do you think that my dogs are grieving for Digger?
