Are you sure it is a yeast infection? If your VET told you so he/she would have also told you how to take care of it. If you have not taken your dog to the vet, you may want to, it may be something else.

my vet gave me a shampoo. had to bathe him everyday for a couple of weeks. but the infection is gone & hasn't been back.

Vets have all sorts of ointments and oral medications for that stuff......Call one.
