Bitter apple sprays (and other similar sprays) only last until they dry. Which is too soon in my opinion!

Chewing on the kennel is a sign of one of two things: boredom or separation anxiety. (Unless it is a teething puppy in which case you'll just have to wait her out!) :)

If she has toys to play with already, you can assume that they don't keep her occupied & might want to consider the time-release toys that you can set to open at certain times of the day releasing a toy (like a kong stuffed with peanut butter!) Or maybe a safe chew toy that you can leave her alone with & not worry about her choking on.

If you think she is showing signs of separation anxiety, like being anxious when you put your shoes on or pick up your keys, then your road to getting this problem fixed is about to get a LOT longer.

Crate training is the right way to go for a dog with separation anxiety, and next you would need to start anti-anxiety training at home, which includes picking up/putting down your keys for a few minutes every hour that you're home. Or opening/closing the front door/garage even when you don't plan on leaving. Or putting on your shoes/taking off your shoes/putting on your shoes/etc. Or just repeat whatever you do right before you leave that triggers the anxiety in your pup (heavy breathing, panting, pacing, etc.) It could take months before you start to see a change in your pet, as long as you stay consistent.

You can consider anti-anxiety meds, like clomicalm & amitriptyline, but they won't "fix" your dog without doing some sort of anti-anxiety training at home as well. And you can try things such as the DAP, the Dog Appeasing Pheromone(linked below), but I've personally had absolutely no luck with it & my own dog that has separation anxiety.

I hope your dog is just exhibiting signs of boredom & not separation anxiety, but it is a fine line that should be explored carefully. Your vet will always have a good opinion on what she/he feels that your pup is experiencing if you feel that you cannot determine it on your own.

Good luck!

The pet stores also sell something called Bitter Apple. You spray it in the dogs mouth (to give it a taste) and the dog doesn't like it. Then you spray whatever it is you don't want chewed. Since the dog knows the scent, from tasting it, it will deter the chewing. You need to re-apply the spray every so often on the objects though. They have directions for use on the bottle. I've not used it yet, but read about it.

Your tale is mindless. You sound like yet another undesirable proprietor who blames everyone else for his or her very own shortcomings. in case you had a appropriate maintained fence - the neighbor's canines does not be waiting to get into your backyard. apart from, in case your canines have been experienced and exercized on a on a regular basis foundation (like they could be), they does not be destroying the kennel and their tooth. What you have is a valueless fence, a low priced kennel and 2 untrained canines that are probably bored out of their minds. And if those are great and effectual breeds, they could be a great gamble to different animals or human beings. practice your canines. exercising them on a regular basis. restore your fence. in case you do those issues effectively - you will not want a kennel.

You might want to try a product called Bitter Apple! When the dog chews on something, just spray a little on whatever she is chewing on, and when she goes to chew on it again, the bitter apple will taste bad, and she should stop chewing on it. Chew toys, to keep her occupied are also a big help!

You can spray it with Bitter Apple- it is a nasty tasting spray but won't hurt the dog. Some people have recommended giving the dog a quick squirt in the mouth with it so she will know just how bad it tastes and recognize the smell. Had to do that with one of my dogs who is somewhat stubborn.
