My fiance and I are buying a ground floor flat and are thinking about getting a cat, as we've been wanting one for such a long time.

But I'm a bit worried that we're quite close to a road, and whether it's safe.

Am I being overprotective?!

Thanks

My pitbull is about 14months old and "he" still squats when he pees... When will he start lifting his leg?
Is this normal???

I mean, is there a way to teach him??? lol
I really don't care it's just that whenever we go over my aunties house (she has 2 pitts the same age, they both lift there legs) and when FatBot squats I just start getting odd questions... I just tell everybody he's a late bloomer ☺lol

k,k...my dog vomitted a few days ago with food that we never gave her! The vomit had chicken giblets that was GREEN>..& there was a lot of it!!! She ate her dinner that night but then ever since then she hasn't been eating @ all. She only drinks milk occasionally & drinks water! She just sits & sleeps...& her stomach seems like it's shaking & quivering. My mum thinks she ate rat poison...but I don't know. We haven't taken her to the vet yet.

I'm slightly worried that my dog doesn't know her peaking order. She's 10months old.

She gets before everyone else, she's allowed on my brother and my Mum's bed, she gets feed from the dinner table etc etc.

I don't let my dog on my bed and I feed her in her bowl.

I have argued and argued till the cows come home about this with my family! I have told them that they are teaching her bad habits, but they don't seem to be concerned.

Any suggestions how I can convince my family that they are teaching her bad habits?

My cat has been vomiting on a somewhat regular basis lately... about once a week. What concerns me is that this vomit isn't completely or even partially liquid... in fact it resembles feces more than vomit. I have a hard time believing these are hairballs, but I'm uncertain as to what hairballs look like or how they can vary from cat to cat, so I don't want to rule that out.

She had a veterinary check-up not too long ago and was perfectly healthy. The consistency and frequence of her vomiting is what really bothers me. The first couple times I figured it was just her adjusting to changes in food or whatnot, but it doesn't seem normal to me at all anymore, and I'm curious as to whether there could be a greater problem causing this.

The vet will be contacted very soon about this, I'd just like to know if anyone's encountered a similar situation or could provide some information or advice for me beforehand.

Thank you.

People keep telling me if I get this dog that it won't live for very long. Is that true?

My 14 - year - old mixed breed,Maura, has just been diagnosed with primary kidney disease ( early kidney failure.) her appettite had not been good for a few days,so I took her to the vet on Tuesday, only to find that she had lost 15 lbs. since her last visit in March. It wasn't apparent ,as she was chubby, and has a very heavy coat.My vet did bloodwork, and the kidney problem was found. Now,I have had dogs with this problem before, and special diets improved their symptoms and prolonged their lives, but Maura,a former chow -hound,refuses to eat ANYTHING,except for duck and rabbit jerky, and cooked chicken breast. She is NOT supposed to have all that protein.I bought Hill's k/d diet, both dry and canned, and some veggie dog biscuits, but she will have none of it.She is taking Tums as a phosphate binder, and Nutri -cal to try and stimulate her appetite and keep up her energy. She is also on amoxicillin.Does anyone have a good homemade diet for dogs with kidney disease that's highly palatable? Thanks.

I know this sounds crazy, but I think my cat is in love with me. It's just the way he looks at me, and the way he kneads on my chest and belly. Is this possible, can a male cat fall in love with his female owner? I feel more like his mommy, but I think he thinks of me in a different way.

Our cat had a kitten and we decided to keep it. It was fine for the first 6 months and now is horrible. It is now a year old and terrorizes the whole house. Any attempts to bond with the cat have failed. It hides most of the time, usually in my son's room, but when it is spotted it will attack. It even attacks the mother cat. We have tried everything we can think of to catch it to take to ADL and are unsuccessful. Any ideas on how to catch the cat to remove it from the house?

I found this turtle several years ago in the woods in back of my house in GA and have always just let her go back into the woods to hibernate for the winter. She has been injured some time in the past and has lost her right eye.She came again this summer and I have been keeping her in a 10'x12' enclosure in my back yard.I dig earthworms, grubs, crickets and slugs (along with a commercial turtle food) that I feed her every day which she eats with gusto. I would like to keep her in this area for the winter instead of letting her go back into the woods where she might not come out again. What do I need to provide for her to safely hibernate in the enclosed space or would it be better to let her go as I have been doing since 1999?
