I know this sounds crazy, but I think my cat is in love with me. It's just the way he looks at me, and the way he kneads on my chest and belly. Is this possible, can a male cat fall in love with his female owner? I feel more like his mommy, but I think he thinks of me in a different way.

Yes, your cat loves you...And, as a 'Mommy'. The behavior you mentioned is similar to the way a kitten treats it's mother...the kneading heps the mother let down milk to feed her kittens.

It often happens that a cat bonds with its owner of the opposite sex. Many female cats are just as attached to their human "Daddies".

He's a cat! Cats don't feel love like humans; males just try to mate with females. He's not doing that, he's kneading you which is what a kitten does to its mummy. He's acting like an affectionate cat does to its owner, nothing more. You're lucky to have such an affectionate cat. :-)

They don't mate cross species, if there was sex involved he'd be humping your arm or something.

So NO! He's bonded with you as a friend, and extended family. The kneading behavior is what cats have held over from kittenhood when they were all safe and warm with mom cat. Stop comfusing human behavior with cat behavior, he's not doing sexy looks at you or wanting to cross breed.

Why do you make this sound so unnatrural? Any pet, dog, cat , bird, rabbit, if treated with love and affection will recipricate. You are the one who feeds them, pets them, plays with them, don't turn it into a silly, maybe fantasy, on your part. Cat's knead when they are happy. Guess what, they also purr. If they are treated right, of course they love you. They don't "fall in love" with you. If you are "into" animals, get a website, you'll make millions lol

I doubt it. I'm mean do cats even fall in love. He probably just likes you a lot because you look after him and feed him and pet him . . .

Animals don't "fall in love" like humans do. I'm sure he loves you, but isn't IN love with you.

I have one male cat that is very affectionate like that and I feel like his mommy too. Yes, he loves you - you are the one who feeds him, pets him and takes care of him. He loves you as the important person in his life.
