You can purchase a small animal trap from a feed store.
Maybe borrow one from the animal shelter or humane society.

You can rent traps from shelters, animal control, and some feed stores.
They aren't really expensive, consider buying one.
Those grabbers for short/old people to reach stuff, work well for grabbing cats. You know, they're about 2 feet long, have a "trigger" that operates a claw with suction cups on the ends. Get them at Walmart, Walgreens, and Longs Drug store in the senior citizen section.
It doesn't hurt them, but you have to move fast, they can get out if they're crazy enough. Also, you do have to get them around the neck. It seems terrible, but it's brief and effective.
Get a carrier ready before you go to grab the cat. Set it up on it's end with the door open for easiest trapping.
Good luck.
EDIT:
As much as we hate it, the best thing for the cat may be euthanasia. What sort of life could it possibly have. Feral cats live brutal, short lives that end painfully. Better to end the suffering peacefully with no pain.

The cat may have some sort of disorder that can be easily treated with anti- anxiety drugs. Also, has it been spayed/neutered? This can affect the behavior of a cat.If you can, trap it with a humane ( Hav - A - Hart ) trap and have it evaluated by a vet before you do anything drastic.Poor thing,it's no different than a person with a psychological problem.

You might be able to borrow a humane trap from the animal shelter and catch the cat. That seems like the easiest solution for all concerned and won't hurt the cat. I had a cat that acted the same way and the vet couldn't find anything wrong with her so we decided she had just gone "psycho", similar to humans, I guess.

firstly, is ur cat a female? she might have mated with her male sibling and is probably pregnant. most female cats can get very irritated during pregnancy.. if its a male, he's most likely suffering from an illness.. try buying a calming tablet from the vet n hide it in his meals. get him checked once uve managed to catch him.. please do not attempt to throw e cat out. they just need ur attention. these behaviors r e only way to show that something's wrong.

higher alternative. provide it a field external with a hot towel or historic blanket to curve in. If your feeling very beneficiant fill a tube sock with rice, microwave it two -five mins and positioned that within the field as a heater.. it'll quiet down however for 30-forty minutes it'll furnish warmth. as for taking it in. if its wild? No. it'll freak and be unmanageable and also you threat getting bitten ect.. if its only a stray or misplaced.. then its judegment name relying on its conduct and reactions... and your rent..

Call animal control. I wouldn't suggest trying to get it out yourself. My husband tried getting a wild cat out of his grandparents attic- it ended up biting him in the hand and he had to get rabies shots because of it.

youre not going to kill the cat are you? or just leave it stranded on the side of the road!?!?! and dont even think about bringing it to an animal shelter, you know no one will adopt the unsociable cat. and its your fault you let your cat breed. dont you know to spay/neuter animals?!?! ignorant people.....
