i was babysitting last night and the children's cat, muffin, is very sick. i think she has cat flu but they won't take her to the vet. i was showing the girls how to clean the discharge off her face that was coming out of her eyes and nose and fed her. i woke up this morning and have a very sore throat which is unusual because the weather hasn't been bad. could i have picked up what their cat had?

Before i start I AM TAKING MY GP TO THE VET ON MONDAY so no smart @rse answers about taking him to the vet!!
My 1st guinea pig had a huge lump on his chest that grew VERY quickly. When we took him to the vet (about 3 years ago) they operated, said it was a tumour & that it was very likely to come back within 12 months. However, it still has not grown back. For some odd reason, my 2nd gp has now got the same thing. It started off as a double chin (all 6 of my gps get this through summer when they have lots of grass to eat!) but in as little as 7 days it is HUGE! I am so embarrassed that i did not notice it sooner, but he is in no apparent pain, is eating well, and is very energetic (they are not v. tame so i only get to give them a once over every few days or so).

So, are these lumps common, what could they be? The first gps lump was grey and mushroom like where it had sprouted very quickly. The lump feels quite small & hard but is surrounded by lots of fluid, there are no wounds..

I put him in his crate when we go to bed and straight away he starts barking, his crate is in the kitchen and we have an open plan house so when he is barking we can hear him in the bedroom, it is stopping us from sleeping and it is reallly affecting us!. We have tried loads of toys and giving him treats when he gets in his crate but nothing seems to be working. I am at the end of my tether with him but I love him to pieces and I am afraid I wont be able to stand this much longer!!. Please can someone help me?

But i don't get a good % from some doctors saying it would help and i don't really want a ball less dog because i usually like the way he is and then he might get to calm. Are there other ways and when does this go away( his obsession for his little *****.)

I have 3 cats and 1 dog and they all have been treated with Frontline Plus. It seemed to work after a few hours, some fleas appeared to die and fall off. However only a few days I noticed that all of the animals are covered again in fleas! Any suggestions? Frontline Plus isn't cheap and I don't know why it isn't working.

My cat has greeny diarrhea and after eating she vomits alot. She hasn't been neutered, but she rarely goes out. She's had problems with worms in the past on several occasions. Also, this week she has been in season, but it's lasted over a week. Is this natural, and what can I do for my cats vomit/diarrhea and occasional worms?

I Have a Berber Skink lizard, can anyone tell me their favourite foods ... he's fed up of crickets and premium cat food, is there anything else I could feed him?
Also does anyone know of any good forums where I can learn more about this species?

I'm very upset and don't know what to do. he is only four years old. how long till he can't see anymore? and is there anything to prolong the blindness??

Hi!

I have two female spayed kittens of age 7 and 8 months.

The last thing I want for them is to go overweight.

If I feed them every day a total of a can of Natural Balance (6oz) wet food and 1/2 cup of "premium" dry food, is that alright or too little?

Please advise. Thank you.

I think animals are amazing with the many skills and instincts they possess. There are many wonderful stories about animals saving so many people from tragedy. Even at the expense of their life.
So I was wondering if anyone had an animal hero story.

Take my dog, a Golden Labrador named Febe, for instance. Last summer, when we were BBQ-ing in the front yard, my daughter was quietly playing in her sand box. I took my attention off of her to ask my husband how the burgers were doing. Then all the sudden I saw Febe, in my peripheral, bolt from across the road and knock Savannah down. For some reason, she had gone into the road. Before I could get out a scream, I saw a Cadillac blaze down the street. I instantly knew this was the reason for her actions. I was crying and so bewildered, I did't know who to hug first. Savannah was a little shook up, but alive.
Febe is such a great dog, and she will always have a very special place in my heart.
Here is my hero dog
