LOL! I laugh because just a few nights ago, my cat was moving his little legs so fast, and he kept whining too. I think he was having a nightmare!

Nope. Any animal that sleeps dreams. My ferrets and cat dream, so does the horse.

Cats certainly do as well, I see it all the time.
In theory, any animal that experiences REM sleep can dream - probably all mammals for starters. Anything with high enough brain function.

Love doc- that link is for what it means if you dream about those animals.. not for what those animals dream about. lol.
I would think most animals can dream.. i had a hamster when i was little that would dream, and make little noises in its sleep sometimes..

I think all mammals dream, Love doc - just had a look at your list and I think it is how you interpret such animals as ants etc rather than saying ants dream.

You will have to include rabbits in your theory, ours used to twitch while it was asleep as though it was chasing lady bunnies. Cats dream too.
