My can has been diagnosed with Diabetes and will start having insulin injections tomorrow. He was diagnosed a few days ago, but the diabetes was strongly suspected about 12 days ago.

The first change that we made was to put him on an all wet food diet. No dry food at all! This advice was initially received from a couple of people here in the Cat section of Yahoo Answers and I also checked it with a couple of other sources online.

My cat has improved greatly with this dietary change alone. He seems a lot better. More energy, more stable, and a real decrease in the symptoms that initially made us think he had a problem.

Don't get me wrong. We are still going ahead with treatment for him and will continue to watch things very closely.

I am just curious to hear what folks here feed their diabetic cats. Have you tried using all wet food with less than 10% carbs? And did this help? Apparently it has worked very well for us, but I would love to hear what others think.

iI need to know if what I see as red flags are really red flags and I am hoping you guys can advise me.

I am in a discussion with a lady to adopt her Old English Mastiff one year old pups. They are both females, unspayed. During our emails back and forth a couple of things have been leaving me with a very uneasy feeling.

She specifically states in her ad the new owner must sign a statement agreeing to pay all medical on the pups. Yet she insists they are healthy and come from good stock. Now I did do research so I know these guys have the potential for major medical issues. So no problem with agreeing to this as I feel that is assumed when adopting any breed anyway. BUT...while talking with her it has come out these pups need immediate medical as they are behind on all normal vet care. Rabies, boosters ect. She has thus far not answered my question as to whether either/both of these gals have had a heat cycle yet, so since "dad" is still on the premises I am concerned of a possib

She loves to destroy things, such as shoes...on a daily basis, she ate the arm of my new couch (unrepairable), everyone tells me to give her toys, especially when i catch her chewing something. Take away what she is chewing and replace it with one of her toys, well that is a grand idea but, she destroys her toys as well..they last about 30 minutes. I have bought her at least 40 dollars worth of toys a week and have to throw them away soon after i buy them. So hwo do i curb her chewing habit short of putting her to sleep..lol jk.

I am in the process of dating this guy... we want to spend more time together but I dont want to leave my cat alone all the time to go see him, I took him once to his house and he seemed content (his tail was in the air). The problem is he has a cat himself that has been kept at his parents house that he is bring down to his new place. Can I get a cat used to traveling there and being in his place with his cat? Would it cause too much stress? What can I do?
