I currently have a massive rock in the tank with him, i'm having lots of problems lifting it in and out for cleaning. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas about a floating rock my mates heard of it but don't know where to get it from. Or does anyone else have any ideas what i could use?

I have a wonderfully sweet Great Dane that we all love and adore. However, he is certainly testing our love and patience these days with his chewing issues. He has a bunch of toys from squeaky balls to Kongs to rawhide and enjoys them all. However, he does not limit his chewing to his toys. We have been very consistent in taking non-toys from him and replacing with one of his, verbally correcting him, removing loose objects from the area, etc. but to no avail. He has his adult teeth so I don't understand why he has suddenly become a chewing monster! We have tried the sprays from vinegar to the bitter stuff in an aerosol can, to no avail. We have a trampoline with a safety net and he has chewed the lower pads off of it. He chews sofa pillows, the living room rug, actually has gone in my room, nosed his way under my sheets and eaten the foam pad on the mattress! He is crate trained but he's an adolescent and needs to play outside longer than I can be out there with him. Ideas??

I got my kitten yesterday and he is covered in flees, all the trearments are not allowed until he is 3 months onwards, have bathed him and combed but only reduced them a little any once know anything natural that wont hurt the cat but will kill the bugs.

please dont get on at me for having a kitten so young, the mother rejected him and the house were he came from ...... he is in a much better place now just the flees came with him.

Or are they equally naughty/mischievous? What mischief do they/he/she create?

This is my first winter with my horses and I am just wondering how you all ride them enough in the winter. I dont have a lighted or covered arena nor have access to one. Soon it is going to be dark when I leave for work and dark when I come home. I try to ride both days of the weekend but am going to be missing my weekday rides. We just trail ride but if we go 2 weeks without riding they get snippy with us and it takes awhile to settle them. How do you all keep them conditioned in the winter so they are good to go when you jump back on in spring?

OK before you start, I called my mom at work and she's making an appointment at the vet, hopefully they'll tell us to bring her on today.

But for the past few days, her stool which was firm and had shape suddenly was becoming soft and runny globs. The bright brown color. Well today I was in my bedroom where her litterbox is and everything and I heard her playing around in the bathtub. I don't know why I got suspicious, I had no reason to...but I went and looked and omg I thought I was going to be sick. There was runny poo in one corner, a drying large puddle on the other end...splatters on the walls, and footprints inbetween. Apparently she was playing in it I dunno...but anyway I somehow managed to de-poo the tub with meangreen and lysol but I noticed there was watery blood in the pile. A light red, almost unseeable (you might think it was just pooey water) but it was clearly a pink red.

What could be wrong? She gets fed Purina Kitten Chow btw and she's probably...3-4 months old.

Recently, a kitten that belongs to my neighbor has been coming in to my house and eating my cat's food and falling asleep on my sofa.

I know the kitten belongs to a child so is it unkind to the kid to let this kitten come in my house?

I recently cleaned out and changed the water in our goldfish tank. Normally I use spring water in the tank, but last night I filled it with city tap water. I had heard that if that water is left to sit for about 24 hours before the fish are added that the chlorine will be gone enough to be safe for the fish. Is this true? How lond should I wait until I put the goldfish back in?

My kitten (Madeline) eats her wet food as if it's the last meal she'll ever eat. She's 4 months old and growing well. She's active and all that good stuff. I leave dry food out for her 24/7 (b/c she's growing). I also leave out water (of course).
I mix wet food in with her dry food about 4x per week, so she knows that this is not a one-time treat. When I put her dish out, she will sit there and eat, and eat and eat until the bowl is empty. I'm afraid she's eating too much at a time and I don't want her to get sick.
I feed her Naturals wet food and Castor & Pollux dry food. She never "binge" eats the dry food like that. I only give her 1/3 of the can at a time and barely a handful of dry food to mix with it....so it's not a whole lot of food, but still.......
Is she okay? Am I doing something wrong?
Your help is greatly appreciated and have a good weekend!

I need to know if rats chew on the bars of wire cages and make a lot of noise. I've had hamsters and at night they'd go CRAZY chewing on the lids of their cages and banging stuff around. I'm not completely sure if rats are the same way. Are they?

My dogs urine is leaving burn spots on my lawn, i have heard that giving dogs tomato juice can help with this. Does anyone have any experience with this or know of any other methods?

My husband was evicting someone out of their apt and they had a tarantula running lose in their house. My husband scooped it up in a plastic box with holes poked in it. We fed it a cricket and it ate it. We are holding it for 30 days to see if the owner wants him. If not we'll keep him.

but if we keep him, can we touch it or hold it? Will it bite us? If it bites us, will we be poisened?

I read they are venomous but my husband says their not and I dont like spiders. They give me the heebeejeebees!

I have a petsmart by my house and they don't seem to handle the animals there very much. They don't really know much about them at all really. But all of the animals seem healthy and active and there seems to always be a new stock of them every time I go in. So I guess they sell fast. But I was wondering, if I get a rat from this store and it hasn't really been handled much will I be able to tame it?

My love bird will be 3 months old on the 17th of this month. I got him just over 2 weeks ago. I can not no matter what I try get him to eat fresh friuts OR veggies. I have even removed his seed cup and replaced it first thing in the morning when he is hungryest with fresh fruit (apples, pears, grapes and so forth) and he will taste but NOT eat them.Last night however he was sitting on my shoulder while my husband and I were having pizza and a piece of peporoni dropped and he ate a little bit of it (i know i know fattening but it was honestly a very small piece) and he seemed to like it. I have tried putting the fruits/veggies in numerous places in and on and around the cage with no luck. I try every day twice a day.. All my other birds look forward to their fruits/veggies is there anything you can think of that I might not have tried that can get this guy to consume fresh fruits/veggies. NONE of my birds are on a strict seed diet and I dont want him to be either..Thanks!

I have a 3 month old male black lab and a 2 and half year old female yellow lab.I just adopted the boy about 2 weeks ago. I've noticed that the boy lab keeps picking fights with the girl lab. He bites her ears or her neck or he will get up on his two legs and jump on her.The girl fights back but she never starts the fights. Is this just normal play behavior? If not how do I stop him from doing it?

Hi! I previously took lessons for about six months and took a break of about a year. About five months ago I started taking lessons again.

I really want a horse of my own, and my dad once told me that after my first year of college (I'm in my first year now), he'd get me one. But, the horse I ride in my lessons (I really like him) is now for sale.

Is it too soon for me to get a horse of my own?

We are leaving for vacation tomorrow and we are taking our 5 1/2 month old puppy. She is in the car a lot, but this is the first time she will be in the car for about 3 1/2 hours. We use a seatbeat harness for her because she always got sick in the crate. I am worried about feeding her before we leave since she is more likely to throw up if she has a full stomach. We are leaving at 9:30 am. I need to take her for a walk before we leave which means I wouldn't be feeding her until close to 7. Would it be best not to feed her until we get to our destination? We probably won't be there until after 1. What do you think?
