I have a petsmart by my house and they don't seem to handle the animals there very much. They don't really know much about them at all really. But all of the animals seem healthy and active and there seems to always be a new stock of them every time I go in. So I guess they sell fast. But I was wondering, if I get a rat from this store and it hasn't really been handled much will I be able to tame it?

Yes, they can be, but they tend to live short lives, due to bad breeding.. They'll be fine one day, and then they get sick.. if they aren't when you get them.. My first had a respiratory issue that never really went away.. (even with a vet) He died when he was only 1 yr old of complications from that.

they're an analogous. The small ones are youthful frequently around a pair months previous and the better ones are older. If many of the extra youthful ones dont sell and are there long sufficient to advance extra advantageous some shops circulate them as much as the medium, then greater sized rats and sell them for extra. they're seperated by ability of length because of the fact maximum are bought as feeders and diverse sized snakes eat diverse sized rats. The hooded rats are an analogous they have diverse coloring varieties and a brilliant form of individuals like them as pets because of the fact they look "fancier". yet hooded rats and good rats can come from an analogous clutter and that they are probably from an analogous breeder if interior an analogous keep. they simply separate the hooded ones, or the dumbo ones, or the different bodily looking ones from the easy looking ones and sell them for extra. clever advertising.

yes you should be able to tame it as long as you handle it a lot i bought a hamsterfrom a petsmart and when they got it out of the cage they dropped it and he died like a week later. i will never buy another hamster or for that matter another pet from petsmart. i have a small petshop by my house where i buy cockatiel and teddy bear hamsters.

You will. Rats are very smart creatures. My friend has three of them. They sometimes bite, but it only feels like a pinch.

the reason the rats are being sold quickly is because people are feeding them to their snakes.
