Hi Charlotte

I'm so sorry for what's happening to your cat. You must be very upset. I've lost pets before and I still miss them and think of them every day.

If the vet is 100% certain that your cat has feline leukemia and there is nothing can be done to help her, then you need to focus on what is the best for her. You love her and have to be brave and do what will help her and not make her pain last longer.

I wish we didn't have to go through things like this but they're part of life. The pain will fade in time, I promise, but your love never will. You'll have lovely memories of your time with your cat, and these will be with you always.

I'm sorry I can't make things better but you can give your cat peace. Make the most of the time you have, and show her how much you love her. Try not to cry when you are with her as that will upset her. Just give her lots of hugs.

Lastly, humans cannot catch feline leukemia, that's just silly. There are very few diseases that can cross between species.

Sweetie I am so sorry. I have 6 cats. I have had to put down 2. The first was barely 6 months old and had a liver deformity. The other was my Caesar, he had diabetes, could not really see well and we had him declawed years ago (never again) and his feet always hurt. He was the hardest because I had to look at him and accept the fact that he had no quality of life. He did not feel good anymore, he hurt all the time. I feed him his favorite tuna, took some pictures and went to the vet. I had to let him go. I sobbed the entire time, uncontrollably. I held until he was gone, telling him i loved him and I was sorry. When you love something that much it's not about what's good for you, it's all about them and what they need you to be strong and do for them. I cried for a week. I am crying right now telling you. She is not going to get better and only suffer. She is also very contagious so be careful, wash your hands a lot.
Again honey, I am so sorry. I have 6 (not 7 anymore) cats and there is still a spot for him.

I am so sorry Sweetie. You really need to have her put to sleep. Feline Leukemia is a very serious thing. Not only for her but you as well. Feline Leukemia can be passed on to young children. I learned this years ago when my daughter was thought to have Leukemia. I had to give away my cats before she could come home from the hospital. Thank goodness she didn't have leukemia, but a less serious problem with her spleen. Putting her to sleep would be best.

Something EXTREMELY similar happened to my cat recently too. She had a blood disease and in June we found out she had a cancerous tumor, but because of her age they couldn't operate on her, so there was nothing they could do.

She had the same problem, got REALLY skinny, wouldn't eat. We tried to help her with some herbs, but to no avail, she was just suffering.

Honey I know it's difficult, but you need to let her go if there is nothing you can do about it. Would you rather see her suffer in front of you?

Ours was put down last Tuesday, it was strange because she was more my mom's baby than mine, and I was the strong one up until that point, I broke down in the clinic.

After the fact, once you've finished crying, you feel a lot better knowing you've done the right thing for your kitty. She won't be in anymore pain. It's a little odd after though lol. You're so used to having your pet around, you continue with the habits you were used to (In my case, feeding her the remains of a can of tuna, only to realise "Oh yeah...")

If you still want to see if you can help her, try ordering some Zambroza, PawPaw, and there are probably other herbal remedies out there that might help too.

I know how you feel - I had a cat die rather unexpectedly of a virus. She wasn't in pain, and luckily she died at the vet's office before I could make my decision to put her to sleep. It's your decision to make, but she is not going to get any better. It's better to not let her suffer. It's going to be a difficult thing to do, but after a few days, when you're able to review the situation with a little less emotion, you'll realize you made the right decision. Let your parents and the vet help you with this. It's okay to cry and to grieve - she's your baby.

I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty, Charlotte.

Letting her go will hurt- But it would be the kindest thing you can do for her. There is no cure for Feline Leukemia, so keeping her alive would only make her more and more miserable.

Let her go, Honey. He who made us all will heal her, and she will wait for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Sweety, she's suffering. I know it's hard and I've been in your shoes before. Putting her down would be the best thing for her. She's not going to get any better, expecially with a disease as serious as lukemia. She's only going to get worse and break your heart even more.
