I think animals are amazing with the many skills and instincts they possess. There are many wonderful stories about animals saving so many people from tragedy. Even at the expense of their life.
So I was wondering if anyone had an animal hero story.

Take my dog, a Golden Labrador named Febe, for instance. Last summer, when we were BBQ-ing in the front yard, my daughter was quietly playing in her sand box. I took my attention off of her to ask my husband how the burgers were doing. Then all the sudden I saw Febe, in my peripheral, bolt from across the road and knock Savannah down. For some reason, she had gone into the road. Before I could get out a scream, I saw a Cadillac blaze down the street. I instantly knew this was the reason for her actions. I was crying and so bewildered, I did't know who to hug first. Savannah was a little shook up, but alive.
Febe is such a great dog, and she will always have a very special place in my heart.
Here is my hero dog

I have a Chocolate Lab service dog. Bosco doesn't have one ounce of aggression in his entire body. About four years ago I was setting up my backyard for my grandson's birthday party. In a few hours my yard was going to be full of approx. 20 four year olds. As I was walking back to my door a Pitt Bull came flying toward my yard barking. It literally climbed my six foot chain link fence and headed straight for me. Without a moments notice my Lab went between me and the other dog. It wasn't interested in my dog but, wanted me. My dog who had never been in a fight blocked the other dog and when the dog got angry bit Bosco. I heard him yipe and the fight was on. I ran in the house and called the police the entire time I could hear the battle. I thought it was my dog being ripped apart but, it was the Pitt. The game warden was so surprised to see a Lab had ripped the dog apart. He just wasn't allowing this dog anywhere near me. It did end up costing me thousands to have my dog repaired. But, it was his pure determination to protect me that made him the victor. This same dog had killed two other dogs and the owner was arrested for not appearing in those court cases. I have nothing against Pitts but, the owners that dont train them.

i dont have a personal story but i can tell one my best friend has:

when my best friend got her first dog it was from a animal shelter. the dog is adorable but she was abused as a puppy. of course she remembers so she i scared of every thing cars, people sneaking up on her, small wild children, ect...
but mostly she is scared of cars because she was found on the side of the free way in a box as a tiny puppy.

just last year my beat friend had her grandmother stay over for a little while. She had to leave for a reason and said goodbye to her grandmother. while she was gone her grandmother triped down the stairs adn broke her arm. she was in so much pain she couldn't get to the phone.

imediatly Sandy (their dog) ran out side and sat in the middle of the street. when the first car came by it stopped and honked but Sandy stayed put! when the driver finally got out Sandy led her to their front door. when the woman walked inside she saw the grandmother on the floor strugiling to get up. she rushed ove rand helped her call 911. her grandmother got to the hospital and is now fine and happy but noone will ever forget Sandy the helping dog.

My cat is a hero. Smokeybear woke me up on 2 separate ocassions when my gas pilot light went out and my rooms filled up with gas. She kept hitting me with her paws until I awoke. As soon as I smelled all the gas in the house I opened up the windows and turned the ceiling fans on. If it wasn't for her I would have been dead.
