I think that they sometimes do. I make kissing noises at my cat Jasper and he will come up and press his mouth to my face like he is kissing me. He is so adorable.

There was a yahoo feature in the front page once about cat kisses. Cat's don't really understand the meaning of a human kiss but they do somewhat understand the reactions related to it. Which is love, pet, love, love, pet, snuggle, and love!
Real cat kisses would be head bumping or the cat shoving it's face at you. :P
If a cat does bite it really means as a friendly way of saying "stop that". Kinda like a light slap to the hand.

Yes, a cat may recognize a human kiss as a sign of affection, but it isn't enough to win their hearts. We must do more to please them. This includes providing unlimited amounts of tuna, soft cloud-like bedding, a treasure trove of cat toys and some cat nip for taking the edge off.
I do not think most cats feel overwhelmingly loved from a quick peck. A human kiss only lasts for a second. Kisses may be comforting for us, but a cat demands more, much more. Can we ever truly please them?
To a cat, quality time matters most. More attention equals greater affection. Endless petting beats fur kisses any day of the week. When you pull out the cat brush and stroke their fur for 15 minutes, then they know they are loved. This sort of attention will win their affection, for a few precious moments.
To sum up, although a cat may recognize a human kiss as a sign of affection, it simply isn't enough. Cats demand more more than a kiss to reach their bliss.

My Snowball definitely does! She'll even purr right after I give her a kiss on her cheek, then she settles down in my lap! She is so sweet. Some days she just doesn't respond to a kiss, that's how it goes. I LOVE CATS

I doubt it.
Cats think on a totally different plane. That is why it is impossible to train them to do anything.
Most people think that having a cat nudge them is a sign of affection. Actually, they are putting their scent on you to mark you as territory. People think that cats like to sit on their laps because the cat wants to be close, but the truth is that most of the time they do it because it is a warm spot.
People don't own cats; cats own people. Dogs have masters; cats have staff.
So a cat probably doesn't understand a kiss. But it might understand that when you are in a kissing mood, it is a positive thing. The cat might also respond to the kissing noise and relate it to your mood.. My cat responds to four words: Kitty, food, fish (her favorite kitty treat), and bug (meaning there is a spider on the wall or a moth to catch).

I read an article about "cat kisses". It is when your cat is across the room from you, and he looks at you and does a slow blink. If you do it first, most cats usually respond in kind.

Not at first, but soon they learn that you do it as a sign of affection. And my cat reciprocates!

Yes of course they do, one of our cats "Sam" gives me a good night kiss every night. Unless of course he's got the sh'its with me.

My cat does. You go to kiss him and he buts your face with his head. It's so cute!
