someone graciously put a mother and 3 kittens on my porch over the weekend. we live on a large farm so it's not really a big deal except they are infested with fleas. called the vet. she's out of town for 3 weeks visiting her husbands family in spain. the on call vet is for emergencies only. i could give the kittens bathes but that doesn't help the mother. all the flea stuff i have around here and what i have found at the store says not to use on kittens under 12 weeks or nursing mothers. i've tried using a flea comb on them but the mom didn't want too much to do with that. any suggestions???
i know having fleas is very bad for them and i don't want them to get sick! they're just too cute!! any help is greatly appreciated!

me and my husband are going to be bringing the dog to get creamated. Mom knows the prices to bring the dogs ashes home, but didn't say to. She also said "I can't bring him back anyways" when I said do you want the ashes. She doesn't have the money to do it. Do you think me and my husband should pay the difference and let her have the ashes? It takes 2 weeks to get them back. She is in absoulute histaricks. He was about 15 years old, and he was her baby. I am looking forward to getting a Maltipoo as I have just moved into a bigger house with a garden. I love all animals and have always wanted a dog of my own. I am from a family of dog lovers and we always kept Standard Poodles. My boyfriend thinks it is crazy to dress pets. I agree to a certain extent, a dog is a pet (almost like a baby) not a doll. I wouldn't put it's hair in bows or get matching outfits or anything. Surely there is nothing wrong with a T-Shirt and a going out coat for the winter though? What do you think?

I've heard that dogs like peanut butter - is it ok to give my dog a lick of peanut butter as a reward in training? He's 18 month old and a border collie? Let me know?

I love my snake. What irritates me is when people look at you and then tell you how cruel you are because you keep it in a cage, you should let it go.

Now i know that you can't release captive bred animals into the wild but my question is: how does one respond to these ignorant attacks? What do you say in one or two short sentences without being nasty (if one could say this without getting rude).

Hi there my girlfriend owns a cat (probably a pensioner in cat terms), who is a house cat and never leaves the house. The cat has fleas and we have tried various treatments- spot on, flea collar, and a spray thing that when she groomed herself made her drool and very ill. the cat hates water and we would probably not be able to bathe her. Any ideas anyone i.e. how much would it cost for a vet to treat this? do they sell cat collar things that look like a satelite dish- you know the ones that dogs get once theyve been operated on- so we could treat her with the stuff that makes her sick and she wont be able to groom?-- any help would be great thank you.

Some work men found two 3 week old kittens in a wood pile in my yard. I finally got them to drink some KMR from my finger as they refused the bottle. I can't seem to get them to "eliminate". They are also both infested with fleas...which is the last thing I need. I called area rescue groups and nobody has room. I need help and advise.
