Pomeranian? Usually a flea bath and a topical flea drops will do the trick. You will need to comb out the dead fleas and ticks out of it's fur. But you also need to flea bomb the whole house and vacuum and clean very good. Especially where the dog sleeps. Wash it's blanket in hot water. If this is not done the fleas will remain in the house.

Now if you dog is totally infested, you will need to take it to the vet . They may need to shave your pom and then give it a bath in a special shampoo. If left untreated your pom can die.

The best way to kill (and prevent a reoccurence) the fleas and ticks is to use Frontline Plus, a topical flea and tick preventative.

It will kill them within 18 hours of application, and works for approx. 30 days, then you need to reapply the medication.

You can remove ticks with a pair of tweezers, but you have to be very careful not to leave the head/jaws etc. behind in the skin, this can cause an infection.

It's best to wash your pomeranian's bedding, soft toys etc. in very hot water to kill any fleas there. Depending on how bad the infestation is you may need to treat your home too. YOu can buy sprays, powders and 'bombs' (the most effective of OTC products) at your local pet store.

If those don't work you can always call in a professional pest removal company. It may cost a bit more, but is totally worth it to get rid of the pesky critters!

you spray the house and yard with homedepot stuff and it should be strong then you buy frontl ineplus from carealot.com and that will cure the problem. if it has fleas you hae to worm it. take care.
