I work with a man who has high cholesterol. He mentions it fairly often and is on a cholesterol lowering drug. The other night he said he had to stop eating at midnight so he could have his lipid panel drawn the next morning. Right before midnight he ate 4 or 5 minuature chocolate bars. The rest of the time his diet seems to consist mainly of fried chicken and pizza-once in a while he will eat 2 or 3 frozen dinners. Now he is complaining that his doctor told him he needs to get his cholesterol down because the medication is affecting his liver function. I though about saying something about his diet but held my tongue because he and his wife are both in healthcare, he already knows what's healthy.
Would you say something if he keeps mentioning it?

I was really active and I took an extreme vacation from any sort of activity for 6 days (during christmas).
I would only walk to the living room to watch tv, eat, and sleep.
that is seriously all I did. I left the house twice in 6 days.
and I was sore, the muscles in my back, the front of my hip, my shin and my shoulders.
could it be from inactivity?

I was pretty active up to that point.

What are the best workout DVD's from the 3 above? I hear that these really kick your *** and help you lose fat easily. I've only done Tae Bo a couple of times in middle school...but now I am 18 and a college student...I exercise regularly but I started doing so less and less since college because of homework and procrastination...I'm 5'5", pretty fit and a size 6 but my thighs are icky and flabby, so I just wanna get toned more ...I'm taking jazz dance, pilates, and weight training next semester but I also need a cardio component to my schedule...also, what's a good yoga DVD from the Firm? I don't know, I'm trying to whip my butt into shape so I can try out for the cheerleading squad at my community college (I've never cheered before and I've always wanted to and I talked to the coach and she said that she'll let most people in as long as they are coordinated and good at dancing...but I gotta make sure!!) Alright, sorry if this is long...thanks for responses!!

Right now, I'm kind of snowed in. But I wanted to start walking a little bit every day. Does walking circles in my room provide the same results walking on a street would (doing it for the same amount of time)?

My goal is to lose body fat and build muscle. Id rather lose the fat and then try to put on some muscle mass. I currently workout six days a week, 3 of those days, i do two a-days. Is it optimal to do my cardio before my strength training or after. My goal is to lose body fat, and maintain muscle mass or increase muscle mass. Thank you.

I am a 17 y/o boy who tries to stay as healthy as possible. I am currently taking two multivitamins each day. I am thinking of buying Natural Brand™ Spirulina and Vitamin B-Complex 50 from the GNC. I will use them as a complement.

I only want the Vitamin B supplement because of the metabolism increase. I want to take Spirulina because of the protein.

Assuming that I take what is recommended of each supplement, do you think there is a risk that I still might overdose? Should I just choose one of the supplements in addition to the multivitamins? In that case, would multivitamins and spirulina make a good combo?

Ok so you decide you don’t want to incorporate 3 meals into your day so you eat a 3000 burger for breakfast. Can you skip lunch and dinner since that’s basically how many calories a man that doesn’t bodybuild need for the day?

Hello everyone! I am 16 year old girl, with a pretty big weight problem. I am about 5'3, and weigh about 180 pounds. Frankly, I am tired of being overweight, and have fineally decided to take a stand. I HAVE to lose weight. Not only for it to help me look better, but also for my future health. It has taken me a long time to reach this point, this point of refusing to succumb to the restraints of being overweight. Im done with dealing with it, and now i am trying to move on. For a while now, I have thoroughly devised a plan to my weight loss. I want to only consume about 1000 calories a day, and workout for 2:30 hours during the week, 3:30 hours on friday, and 5:00 hours on the weekend. And every day drinking about 6 bottles of water, and two cups of green tea. My questions are, Does my plan have any flaws? And, How long would it take for me to lose 60 pounds? Thank you so much for listening to me, i humbly appreciate you all.
