I have never worked out. I want to start working out to get healthy. If I were to start working out with exercise equipement (weights, treadmill, etc.), can I do so without getting too much muscle (six pack, etc.)? I am not wanting the "macho" look. I just want to be healthy.

for waterpolo our coach wants us to have a 12 hour fittnes log over the break so we don't get out of shape...but a parent has to sign it so don't suggest lying!

i have like 7 days of break left & 11 hours of workout to do!!!!

I did cardio first, stretched, then weights then stretched more & im still pretty sore.

any quick tips for working out the sore parts so that i can go th the gym & actually get a good workout?

I'm trying to loose body fat, but all I hear is you have to burn up more kcal than you eat. Is this the case when loosing fat? As im eating a high protein diet, med carbs with very little fat.

I have a ligament tear in my ankle and had an operation.
I can walk a little bit with clutches.

I just measured the total amount of water i drink every day, and i was shocked. I drink an average of 160 oz of water everyday. And 60 of those oz. are green tea. Is that healthy? And if not, then how much should i be drinking?

I dont over eat, I have one cup of coffee at work, I dont eat too much sodium (i rarely salt anything), I exercise 30-60 min 3-4 times per week. I wake up some mornings and my tummy just feels so full, bloated, gasy..and sticking out after i havent eaten for like 12 hours, but the way it looks you would think I JUST ate a HUGE meal. Its rediculous, I dont deserve to have a gut when i watch what I eat, exercise, etc.... Any suggestions??

when i say junkfood i mean like, everything.
pop, fries, chips, pretzels, popcorn, chocolate, candy, pretty much all extra salty/sugary/buttery things, lol.

will i lose a decent amount of weight?

I don't eat alot of salty foods or anything fried. During the holidays it's alot of sugary snacks. I only blow up like a puffer fish when I eat sugar. No problem laying off the sugar any other time of the year. Because I ate with my tastebuds and not with my head. It's a little late to be thinking of what I shouldn't have done in the first place. So how do I get some relieve?

I am an athlete in high school who plays multiple sports. My main attribute is speed. However, before, I used to be a lot faster (sprinting-wise) than I am right now. I am still considerably above average in speed but I'm looking to regain my speed from the past. Like from a year ago. Even though I put this question in health, I don't have health problems-good physical condition and all. Also, I am practicing sprinting in my park and so on in recent weeks but I'm really impatient so i'm looking for any helpful tips or excercises to get me back to my previous level. Oh, I also have leg weights and I use those sometimes.

Has anyone tried this diet and if so can ya'll give me some good recipes that I can use will doing this diet?
I really want to start eating better because me 8 month old is almost ready to eat table food and I wat her to eat healthly and plus I really want to get back in shape and eat better myself.

approx. 40 to 50 lbs
i really dont look to be 220 lbs.., but looks can decieve.

I want to get dressed immediately and do my yoga dvd. The yoga makes me feel great although it is physically strenuous...sitting on the couch is warm cozy and easy ! Where does motivation and self discipline come from???

ok well last year i tried out for football and i made the team and did great but over the process i gained some weight. now its my second year and the coach wont let me join the team unless ive lost 40 pounds!!!!!! im 205 now and i need to get to about 160 sumthing!!! i have like 2 months left till the final tryout what do i do!! im thinking of going on an all liquid diet.
