No no no. Please no. That may bring temporary weight loss but is very very bad for your body. Yes, drink liquids but not only liquids! Your body needs food! ! ! How about eating better. More veggies and fruits. Mix any fruit together or any veggies together with plain yogurt in a blender and drink up. That'll give you great nutrients. Eat wheat bread instead of white. Drink water! Carry a water bottle with you at all times. Don't eat too much meat because its rather fattening.
EXERCISE. Run on a treadmill or outside. Running is the most amazing thing! It will help with endurance a ton. Jump-roping is a great cardiovascualr exercise, too. Other good exercises are swimming, and biking. Get off your butt and go outside, walk around, vaccuum for your mom. Anything you do that is moving is burning calories. The key to loosing weight is to burn more calories than consumed. So, watch what you eat, but don't cut everything. And exercise more. Don't spend two hours on Y!Answers looking for the answer.... get outside!! Shovel or sweep the driveway. Walk a neighbors dog.
I'll be praying for you and I hope that you'll get onto the team. But, if you don't, that is okay becuase you'll have a whole year to get into tip-top shape!

nope thats stupid, find a treadmill (sidewalk if it's warm where you are) and a pool and spend every available moment at full speed on/in one of them. If you stop eating your body will eat your muscles before your fat, and go into hybernation. Not only will you be 205 for tryouts, but you will be very weak. Eat healthy and eat 2000 cal. a day. What he asked isn't impossible (5lbs. per week) but its very very hard and not healthy. I would tell him to suck my **** and I'll show up however I show up, but if you really want the spot be prepared to work very hard.
