I am an athlete in high school who plays multiple sports. My main attribute is speed. However, before, I used to be a lot faster (sprinting-wise) than I am right now. I am still considerably above average in speed but I'm looking to regain my speed from the past. Like from a year ago. Even though I put this question in health, I don't have health problems-good physical condition and all. Also, I am practicing sprinting in my park and so on in recent weeks but I'm really impatient so i'm looking for any helpful tips or excercises to get me back to my previous level. Oh, I also have leg weights and I use those sometimes.

1) this is in the right place, don't worry about it

2) leg weights make you run stronger, not faster

3) here's what you do:

If you don't know what a suicide (ladder) is get farmilliar, try and really explode off every cut and cut hard, this exercise is built for speed. Try going to the track and sprinting 100 then jogging 100 and repeat till exhaustion.

Plyometrics is another great way, jumping over boxes and up onto things I hope you know what I'm talking about.

Theres also some lifts that can increase speed, straight leg deadlift, deadlift, squats, I'd probably stay away from legpress.

good luck

You need to maintain a healthy system and train the muscles that you will be using. My favorite coach is Jack Medina
