Quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings, abs, lower back, and much more. The best exercise. Do them with a bar on your back, with added weights. 5lbs weight in each hand wont do anything.

squats are done with a bar, not weights in your hands (ordinarily) and your feet are kept togeather. I think what you are talking about might be lunges. But they both work glutes (the muscles on the back of your thighs) which gives a very good look to a persons ... trunk over time, and can also increase speed. There should be no bending, just straight down and up. I don't know what the deal is with the weights out front, I guess that could work your forearms and upper arms, but theres much better ways to do that than holding a 5lb. weight out in front of you. I would use a bar, but if you want to use hand weights you'll need more than 10lbs. even to start and just hold them down at your sides.

This feels like a trick question to me, yet in spite of everything, even on the 1st day you will experience the leads to your muscle mass. devoid of understanding what "advancements" you're attempting to realize, it quite is advisable to p.c.. your self, even beginning with fewer and build up.

this works out your arm muscles when you keep them up with weights.. and when you squat it works out your glutes (your behind) if you tighten them.. also if you keep you stomach tight while doing this work out.. it will help your abs as well...
