yes it's safe to lose that amount. You can (if you don't already) add more water to your diet, lay off soda, and other sugary drinks. Try eating out only once a week. Eat more baked foods. Doing it this way will hopefully be easier for you than attempting a "fad" diet. Also include more walking. Little things do add up. For example instead of using the remote, get up and walk to the t.v. If you drive, park your car as far away from the door, as you can, and still be safe. Take stairs whenever possible. The most important thing is to try to have fun while losing the weight so you don't get bored and give up. Good luck

Yes ... aim for shedding 1 pound a week though SLOWLY decreasing the calories, and SLOWLY increasing your activity.
Start with acknowledging the calories you are already eatting, and then decrease the calories by 10% (first month) ... then another 10% calorie (20% total) the next month.
Should you be slow & steady, the weight will come off. If you crash diet, you'll loose weight instantly, and then gain more.

you can loose so much more than that cause if you start a proper diet and exercise you should be dropping 2-6 pounds a week. Its pure myth that you should only loose 1 pound a week and yes is safe as long as your only loosing fat and not muscle lol well that was stateing the obvious
