Y'all need to become Christians!

Christians don't have to brush our teeth because the Holy Spirit defeats the devil's plaque attack and the Holy Spirit fills any cavity that may try to form. Non-tooth brusher for 14 years! No more paying those evil dentist bills!

Please excuse me for my stupidity just trying to have a little fun! Hope you enjoy!

I don't feel like being an uptight Christian toinght.

I have to have surgery to correct my protruding jaw, but about two years ago (I am now almost 16), the doctor said that I could not have it until my jaw is fully developed. At about what age is the jaw at its maximum size on females?

i am 38 years old and the last time i went to the dentist was when i was 8....my old dad (god bless his soul) once told me to never bother going because as soon as you go they start drilling and pulling and all sorts of other things just to make up the bill....my dad had perfect teeth before he went in just for a check up and then had a load of problems after that....that advice stook with me ever since....i dont have any problems at the moment with my teeth but is it worth going just for a check up.?

I have very bad teeth and I do not want braces. I would like to have my front nine teeth taken out and replaced with new ones that are straight. I don't even know if this is possible and if it is how much would something like cost. I have been hiding my smile for year and I just can't take it anymore. Thank you.

I had a molar puled on monday (#31) It was quite a long, hard process for her to even get the tooth out. It took over 2 hours. I do have stitches. I have been eating soft, mostly non-chewable foods, I do not smoke, I have been taking the ibuprofen (2x200mg) every fours hours along with the pain meds they prescribed (and antibiotics) If I go more than 5 or 6 hours without the pain meds, my mouth KILLS me. It's worse when I talk alot, or eat a soft food that requires some chewing motion. I'm still quite swollen inside and have a 'knot' of swelling on my jaw bone that is very painful to the touch. And I feel like I can't open my mouth very far.

Is this normal?

I do have an appointment to go back in today at 1:30. I was just curious if this was taking longer than normal to heal and be comfortable.

Basically, I want to know, if I can live with the pain of the cavities, can I just take care of my mouth enough so that bacteria does'nt spread to other teeth and make anything worse?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have periodic tooth pain BUT do'nt want a root canal, or pulled teeth. Can I brush after every meal, use fluoride (ACT) mouthwash, listerine, and enamel strengthening toothpaste and not go to the dentist? I also gargle with salt water.

The Dentist gave me antibiotics, and said if pain returns I have to have a root canal or pull my 'way in the back' teeth.

--If I don't pull, will the bacteria kill all my OTHER teeth?
--Or can I get rid of the bacteria? with good hygeine?

Hi everyone,

It's been 6 days now since I had 2 impacted wisdom teeth removed on my lower jaw. My jaw is still very stiff and slightly sore. At night, the pain seems much worse. I'm taking ibuprofen to control it. I can't open my mouth very wide at all - maybe about an inch, and then my jaw resists and opening becomes painful.

I'm just wondering if this is all pretty normal stuff, even 6 days after surgery? I've known a few people who have had the procedure and they fully recovered within 3-4 days. I have a one week follow-up with my oral surgeon tomorrow, but I'm just wondering what other people's experiences have been.

Thanks.

People who are close to me tell me my gappy teeth is fine. But this condition sometimes make me shy and uncomfortable to talk or laugh freely. Should I listen to those I love or just get the braces and make myself happy?

My friend, 17, a Brooklyn resident, has two, impacted wisdom teeth on the bottom, but has no dental insurance. While NYU and Columbia are significantly cheaper than a private oral surgeon (yes, it is considered oral surgery), it is still unaffordable for him. Any suggestions or ideas?

...Or try to get it loose by myself? I'm terrified even thinking about a tooth extraction.. not for the pain. Just for the anxiety. If it is possible to loosen it safely myself.. do you have any tips? I have braces, and my orthodontist mentioned that I need to pull it out before my treatment goes any further (no new wires, chains, ect). Thanks.

A long time ago, I chipped my tooth. I didnt bother it for a long time, I had a small piece of tooth in my gum. Well today it got loose, and I cant get it out! I dont want to go to a dentise, I am scared of bad tesults. It's a really small piece of tooth, I believe. What else can I do besides see a dentist? Thanks so much!

My wisdom tooth on my left side has been trying to come through for years. It's finally made some progress, but it won't stop throbbing! I can hardly talk or eat. I feel like it's poking though to my cheek. Is there any way I can help it along? Is this a sure sign that it will need to be pulled? Can I prevent it from being pulled somehow? What can I do for the throbbing? Any suggestions are greatly aprreciated! Thank you.

I got my llip pierced 4 days ago (straight titanium stud, longer bar for swelling), by a well recommended and skilled pro. Most of the swelling has gone down and it looks great, but on the inside it is still swollen, taking up the whole bar. One the back (inside my mouth) where the stud sits, it feels like it is sinking into my mouth and there is this little red circle that the back of the stud is sitting in. It looks like the regular pinky flesh is starting to cover it, or something.

Does anyone (preferably someone with experience with this problem) know what this is or if it's a problem, and if so, what I should do?

Thanks much,
Alice
