I went to see dentist Jeffrey St... in Brooklyn, NY for an implant. The day of the surgery he drilled so hard and high that he damaged my nerve. Now I have constant vibrations, spams in my lips where the implant was placed. The temporary tooth he placed was way higher than the other teeth. When I confronted him, he yelled at me from across the reception to say:" you came here with a whole in your mouth; there was no bone to work with. Then he asked:what do you do for a living, if you're a lawyer, do you win every case? When you step outside, if you get struck by car, can you foresee it? I complained about him to the Dental Society, they convinced me to settle, as he'd agreed to refund 1000 out of 1400. But the spams have gotten worse and they distract me and I'm not able to focus. I keep my lips pursed all the time in order to stop them. I had the work completed by an experienced prosthodontist in NYC, and he said he'd never seen the devices that JS used. He's now in Montague St.

I've never had dentures and mine seem not to fit very securely. I have to apply adhesive all over them to get them to fit without wiggling all over. I have big gaps in some area of gum and denture and one side of the upper seems to hang lower than the other no matter how much goop I squeeze on it. Seems the more goop the less I can taste anything. Help! Dentist says I just need to heal and them reline. I don't want to try to fix ill fitting dentures with more "bandaids."

Ok here's the situation. Ive had braces since I was in 8th grade. I am now in 11th grade, and still have them. Last year my orthadontist said dont use the o rings anymore if you dont like the colors. BUT EVER since they have been off it feels like my teeth havent moved...AT ALL. Common I have 1 gap and they come off...JUST ONE. Tell me how shady this sounds...I tell them to put a chain up top...and he said no. I asked him to put the O rings back on...he said no he's not gonna do that. I JUST WANT THEM OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!

I'm 16 and I have one missing "I" tooth. A couple of years ago my orthodontist said all he would have to do is reshape it, but he had to wait a couple years to let my teeth develop. He also said that I would not need braces. So, I went back months ago, and he found that I have a cross bite, so that would require me getting braces on my bottom teeth, and also that I would need to have an implant for my missing "I" tooth.
So, what I don't understand is why is it that before he
I needed to reshape that area, but now I need an implant?
Also, is an implant the best way to go? HAS ANYONE been in a similar situation!!!!

It has happened every other [maybe every] day for about two weeks now. I wear rubberbands on my braces, and I'll put them on at night you know, then I wake up in the morning, and they're not there.I make my mom watch me put them on at night too.

Anybody know why this is happening?

[And Yes, the could possibly be breaking and me swallowing, but I have found then intact in my bed a couple times].

I've had migraines for a while.. and a nurse i know (she's still going to med school) felt my mouth popping and clicking.. and i could NEVER find out what my migraines were.. i kept a food diary, everything.. well.. she suggested maybe it was caused by TMJ.. i'm not sure if i have it or not because my parents cannot afford a dentist or doctor right now... for the longest time my jaw has cracked and popped even when i barely open my mouth.. it's been sore enough that it hurts to talk.. i just ignored it.. also i grind my teeth at night.. that's the best information i can give.. please help, if anyone knows about TMJ migraines.. that would help me so much.. i've been trying forever to find out what causes my migraines.. thank you!

Hi, I had root canal done about a year ago and it has been hurting on and off for the last 6 months now. It really hurts in the evenings and during the night but does not hurt at all during the day.

I have told the dentist this and she gave me an x-ray, which turned out to be fine.

It is not sensitive to hot and cold like my intected tooth was before the root canal treatment but it does hurt when I chew with it sometimes.

I also grind my teeth whilst sleeping.

Any suggestions what it might be?

My orthodontist said that I would most likely be given rubber bands to wear at my next appointment (a week from today)... and I'm a little anxious about the effects that they might have on kissing and other intimate activities.

I know that wearing the bands all the time except for eating and brushing is necessary to get the braces off on time. But, will I be able to take them off before kissing and the such?

Will taking them off for an hour or two every so often (not every day) in addition to the time they are off for eating and brushing have a noticable impact on how soon I will get my braces off?

Thanks for your help.

My Dentist tells me to floss, but they are all just selling products, so not sure whether to believe or not. I´ve heard others say flossing is not a good idea. Please give me pros and cons to flossing everyday. Thanks.
