They obviously came off somehow... How I don't know. The most likely situation is if you are taking them off yourself in your sleep. Sleep with your hands under your pillow or restrain them in other ways and see if that will help.
Everything the orthodontist puts in your mouth has been tested again and again in the digestive system and are fine to swallow... but that's probably not something you want to do on a regular basis. It shouldn't be a big deal if they slip off at night. Make sure you wear them during the day and everything should go as planned. Ask your orthodontist if he has a better solution to your problem.
Good luck!

A lot of times, in the morning my mom finds that I don't have any cover on me in the winter and she has remembered me putting the cover on but I don't remember taking it off! A lot of times in my sleep I don't remember anything. Maybe you are irritated by the rubber bands in your mouth and take them out without remembering.

You're either swallowing a few or making them pop off!

I don't have rubberbands on my braces yet. I think they pop off a lot. My friend, Alex, has rubberbands on her braces. I think they pop off a lot. She said they hurt to put on! Damn! I don't want to get rubberbands on my braces anytime soon! I have braces. I don't like them. The colored ties snap off a lot. I hate it. It sucks. It sucks ***! Ha! I said ***! Ha! No.

You probably sleep with your mouth open, even if you might not want to believe that's true, and they might just snap off if you open your mouth really wide. I wear braces to, but i don't have rubber bands, so i don't really know.

You could be swallowing them, or pulling them off at night and you dont even know it. They also might be loose and falling out. Or it's your brother playing a little trick on you. lol

Chances are you grind your teeth, causing displacement causing them to pop out, or maybe you literally take them out in your sleep. Are they uncomfortable? Maybe you should ask your dentist to increase the pin size or the elastics' strength.

Most likely they break and you swallow them. Or they break and they fall on the bed or ground.
