Okay, I got spacers in my teeth on thursday, because I'm getting braces next week. My question is, why do my teeth feel like they've been hit repeatedly by my littel brothers baseball bat? I'm not exaggeration..I couldn't even eat mashed potatoes or jello they hurt so bad!

My sons has a adult tooth coming in behind his baby tooth. The baby tooth is not loose or anything. Has any one had this happen before? If so what does the dentist do?

My bottom front gums are really sore! They aren't red and the teeth are fine, but the gums really hurt and they are very irritated for some reason. I havent switched toothpaste or anything, so I don't know what is going on but I don't have health insurance so I CANT GO TO THE DENTIST. What can I do to make my gums stop hurting. Do your gums ever hurt? why?

I am aware of the causes of Canker sores. And get them frequently.

But I have the worst two canker sores of my life right now, they almost are bringing me to tears at times. They are like craters in my mouth. I know these in pirticular have been caused by the fact that I have braces. I had problems keeping the brackets on and they had to change the brackets in the front because I kept biting the others off in my sleep so these are much stronger (omni brackets).

Until I can get into my orthodontist (I just moved so I have to call my new one and make an appointment) to have him fix this anyone have any ideas for a cure? I have perscription medication for canker sores and it hasnt worked at all.

Thanks!

i just recently got my braces removed (yay me) but i think there may be a problem with one of my teeth... a far back upper molar (the one with the brace that wraps completely around the tooth) is messed up... i can feel the roots of the back of the tooth with my tongue, and i tried touching, with my finger nail, above what i think are the roots of the tooth and there was an exposed nerve that hurts very badly! i dont know if he pulled too hard trying to get the brace off, or if the brace caused the back of my gums to receed or something... so what i really want to know is, is this worthy of immediate attention and should i go back to my orthodontist and ask him about it?

it's very small and it's doubtful that anything will go up there but you never know... popcorn kernels would deffinitely be able to lodge in there... nothing has bothered it yet but you never know...

Ok, I have a gap between my two front teeth and an overbite. The work needed would be extensive and include breaking the roof of my mouth. I have always been sefl-conscious and dont smile with my mouth open. My husband says i look great, but should i get them fixed anyway? With my dental plan, I can afford it, but as an adult, would it be worth having to wear braces?

I have been on antibiotics for 48 hours after experiencing an excruciating toothache for about a week. I self prescribed Motrin 800 mg, and some kind of antibiotic. THEN I went to the dentist. He prescribed Amoxicillin (500 mg) and Naproxen Sodium (pain pill).

Last night I rinsed my mouth with Hydrogen Peroxide off and on for roughly 7 hours to deal with the pain. This morning I woke up to a stiff jaw and a swelling between my jawbone and neck. The swelling is pretty large - about 2 inches in diameter. Face feels tight.

The toothache pain is intermittent, and I wonder: is this normal? Does this mean the infection is leaving? And if so, how will this lump on the side of my face drain?

and I still have some swelling in my jaw. I had drysockets, and they had to pack my gums....ouch! It seemed to help for a few days, but now everytime I start to eat it just flames up and hurts so badly that I can't even finish my meals! Is this normal? I really HATE going to the dentist, but is it worth something to look into, or will it pass?
