How quick can dentists put braces on your teeth after extractions? I am having all 4 wisdom teeth out and 2 extra on top (the first molers on on each side) on thursday, me dentist said to come in on the monday and he will put the spacers in and the following thursday the braces! Doesn't that seem like too soon? only 4 days!

I'm not scared of dentists, I just never got around to registering with a new one after leaving my home town when I was a teenager. Now I don't know where to start! I've heard stories about dentists who, knowing that you haven't been for years, will tell you that you need hundreds of pounds of work doing and that worries me. I have two questions, really. One, how do I go about finding and registering with a dentist, how much does it cost, can I get it free on the NHS or is that only for people who are on benefits? Two, how do I know if I'm being ripped off? I mean it'd be rude to ask for a second opinion, right? If there are any dentists reading, how many fillings, extractions etc would you expect someone to need after fifteen years? My teeth don't hurt and I brush and use floss, but I do drink a lot of diet Coke and I hear that can cause problems. I know this is a daft set of questions, and probably too long for anyone to read, but any responses would be much, much appreciated.

I have two broken wisdom teeth (roots/nerves are exposed), and I haven't had them pulled after 3 years. Am I at serious risk for anything? Just need to prioritize my health and dental concerns according to urgency. Thanks.

thats when they take out a tooth and then move all of your remaining teeth back one space to align your teeth.
If anyone has had this do you now abouthow long it takes for your teeth to move into place so you dont have a big hole in your teeth?

I've chewed on my fingernails for a long time and have tried many things to quit but no luck. This has a connection to my teeth. Anyways, when I'd nibble on my nails, every once in a great while my finger would slip and hit my lower gumline. Hurts like a b**** too. Over time, my lower gumline(front four) has begun to recede bc of that slip of my nail.

Out of curiousity, as long as I keep up with my teeth(brushing, flossing, etc). Should I worry about it? Will it heal(replace the tissue that was once lost) at all if I do stop chewing on my nails? They're healthy as they can be..just missing in a couple spots. I'm probably over-reacting too. Haha

I'm seven months pregnant. Six weeks ago I had severe pain in my upper left teeth, so I made an emergency dental appointment with a new dentist because I didn't have a dentist. He couldn't find anything wrong and assumed I wasn't in a lot of pain because "I wasn't crying" (exact words from the dentist). He told me to keep taking Tylenol because it seemed to be working for me. The next day I had trouble breathing through my left nostril and green stuff starting dripping out. I spent three weeks clearing it out with saline spray, which my husband recommended. I've never had allergies or sinus problems before, but he has it all the time. Now I have a bubble that is oozing green stuff over the site of where my wisdom tooth should be. Should I try another dentist or should I try a doctor? I can't tell if a sinus problem is causing dental problems or vice versa.
