With the general anesthesia you won't feel much pain during the procedure. After the procedure ask your dentist for some pain medication and take them as prescribed. When you get home place an icepack on your checks foe 20 minutes on and then off for 20 minutes, this will reduce the swelling and lessen the bruising. Do this for a couple of hours. Then make sure you eat only liquids and some pudding for the first couple of days. And make sure you follow your dentist instructions. And the general anesthesia will give you a nice buzz feeling. Hope all goes well.

Heck, don't worry. I sat back in the dental chair, relaxed, felt a trifle dizzy, and the next thing I knew a male attendant was telling me I really had to wake up...and from the tone of his voice I felt he had been trying to get me up for quite a while :)

The worst problem I experienced was when I got home. I would not stop bleeding, which is why it is a good thing to have somebody stay with you at least half the day.

Oh, and whatever you do, do not drink with a straw. It will cause dry sockets and trust meeee, you will not be a happy camper if that happens. I never had dry sockets, but my brother did, and he was in agony.

Good luck...avoid the straw monster and you'll be just fine :)

Well, first of all, it depends on if the surgery is going to be performed by a dentist or by an oral surgeon. I had my wisdom teeth taken out last year by a dentist who was also an oral surgeon and was just put under local anesthesia.
What happens after your teeth are removed is they put stitches in your mouth, then put gauze in your mouth at the sites of the surgery and you bite down while reclining on your back on the chair for about 5-10 minutes. The assistant changes the gauze in your mouth, then looks and makes sure the places in your mouth where you had surgery are going to stop bleeding on their own, or if you'll need additional stitches.
After a while, you go home and you have to keep ice on your cheeks to get the swelling down. What happens next is after the numbing medicine wears off, you feel a little pain in your mouth, but you should be given pain pills for that!

General anesthesia is a blessing, you won't remember anything. The important things to remember after surgery is to follow the oral surgeons directions. DO NOT drink from a straw for at least a week, you will get dry sockets and they hurt like you know what. I had three of my wisdom teeth cut out and I ended up with dry socket and it hurt almost as bad as the impacted wisdom teeth. Get plenty of rest, it helps your body to heal faster too. Good Luck

You will probably be fine. One thing that can happen is you "might" get a dry socket. This will hurt like crazy and you will know it. If it happens call the doctor about it. He will probably want you to come back in and he will fix it. You will have some bleeding for a few hours but that will stop. Good luck. Pops

afterwards, you have to walk around with gobs of gause in your mouth to absorb all the blood.... you cant eat anything because you could possibly rupture the bone where your tooth was extracted. the hole has to form a blood clot and DRY and if you eat or drink anything for like two hours you can get a 'dry socket', and from people telling me, they hurt REALLY bad. none the less nothing hurts afterwards. just be careful...

I had several teeth removed after an acident.
The Dentist gave me 2 Halcyon tablets.
I was good to go!
Be sure to protect against getting a dry socket.

You will go to sleep, and wake up later after having your teeth removed. If you are under long enough, they may decide to take a kidney to sell on the black market.

depends on how hard they have to pull, for the most part, its an uneasy feeling to watch them yank and tug, twist and turn, but its sure better than dealing with an abscess or crowding etc. It takes a couple of days and back to normal.

I think they just numb your gums, cut them, grab the tooth and yank it out. Not sure though. It must suck to have to have teeth pulled. Mine grew in normally luckily so I'm all good.
