Folks, I'm sorry to do this but I have decided to remove the ability to contact me in e-mail using Yahoo!'s "contact member" feature. I was away for 2 days and came back to find about 2 dozen messages from Yahoo! members. One was vile and I don't need that. It was just an attack on dentists in general that had nothing to do with any questions I answered or anything. I hope that none of the other dental professionals heard from this "person." 3 or 4 were simply from people who didn't understand why they can't find free dental care. I'm sorry - and I mean this - but other than answers given in Yahoo! about Donated Dental Services or sliding scale clinics, I have no solution for you.

The biggest reason, though, is that I simply cannot get my responses to most of you. I wrote out about 15 responses and only TWO were accepted by Yahoo! The rest disappeared and I received the message, "Oops! Your email did not go through because the recipient\'s email address has not been confirmed."

Sorry to answer you this way, but I just have not been able to respond to very many letters using Yahoo! and I don't have e-mail addresses.

My daughter is soon to be 5. Just the past two days I noticed her two bottom teeth are loose, bleeding a little and now are going gray? I know it is soon time for the tooth fairy and that loosing baby teeth is normal, however, is the graying normal?

hello I was thinking about getting porcelain veneers for my teeth and was wondering if it is good. Do they look like real teeth? and how long do they last? i heard that they are good but i am not 100% sure how much they cost as well. If any of you know anything about porcelain veneers please let me know. If you got them as well can you tell me if any body can tell the difference between that and your real teeth thanks! respong ASAP

I have a broken molar in my mouth, and it's giving me some really massive toothaches. It used to just come and go, but now it's been going on for 2 days. I've tried putting Orajel on the gums surrounding the tooth, and that worked for a little while, but now it has no effect. I would normally go in for an emergency visit to the dentist, but I'm not at home, where my insurance covers me. Anyone have some advice on how to dull the pain down for 24 hours? Then I get to go see a local dentist :)

It feels like it did when my 12-year molars came in, so I suppose that there's nothing wrong... I just don't remember what I did to make my molars feel better. Help?

My childs' dentist suggested retainers for her overbite. If that doesnt work , braces may be in order. She is 9 & still has baby teeth

I bought act restoring mouthwash and it tastes like turpentine and thats probably b/c of the 11% alcohol.
however, I bought a cheaper equate version that had no alcohol and it tasted better and I think it did a better job b/c soon after I ran out, I started getting gum pain.

thanks.

Except its more painful, and tight. I can open my mouth. But my teeth hurt and that puckering feeling is killing me. Its hard to explain, but its like when you eat something sour and there is that moment were you pucker up. Except, its not stopping. I've left a message with the dentist but he hasn't called me back yet. Any direction you can point me will help! And please no negative feed back, I already feel like a 'tard.

My gums are starting to receed due to over-agressive/brushing too much... I've decided to brush with a soft brush on my insides and outsides of my teeth an use an electric toothbrush for my chewing-front.

Anyway, I like to rinse my mouth after meals (as I normally brush)...but what's more effective in removing bacteria/foodstuff... warm or cold water??

My teeth are straight after 3 years of wearing braces. They're coming off in a few weeks, followed by a retainer. But.....im self conscious about the gap of my overgrown bottom jaw. Is there a way this can be fixed? I don't want to have surgery. Is there a device i can wear at night or something. My jaw won't stop popping if I jerk it but I want to get a second opinion once I can afford to.

My dentist said (a while ago) that there was no point in taking it out as it wasn't causing problems. But recently the gum and cheek next to it have been getting really sore - swelling up a bit. I've used Corsodyl, which seems to help. Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm not due to see the dentist again for four months.

Any dentists out there today?
