I bought act restoring mouthwash and it tastes like turpentine and thats probably b/c of the 11% alcohol.
however, I bought a cheaper equate version that had no alcohol and it tasted better and I think it did a better job b/c soon after I ran out, I started getting gum pain.

thanks.

the alcohol is suppose to kill the germs and bateria, but in most cases it makes it worse. The non alcohol rinse is better.

It's meant to kill the germs. However, some dentists argue that it's bad for your teeth because it breaks down the enamel. Go for the cheaper Equate stuff with no alcohol just in case. I personally use Scope, which also has no alcohol.
