The fact is, you can get an instrument from any dentist to pull the floss string between the teeth. It is time consuming, but at least you can say you flossed.

I've had braces for a while too, and I also have the same problem. My father bought me this thing like a hummingbird (found at Longs Drugs I think) and it's basically a sharp pointy thing that can help remove stuff you have in between your teeth. There's also different kinds of these disposable heads, including one that has a floss-like thing.

As for flossing, studies show that flossing everyday will make your teeth cleaner and less plaque, though not many of us follow this fact. I just suggest you floss when you feel like there is a lot of food stuck between your teeth or at least 3-5 times a week to maintain a healthy hygeine.

flossing braces was a huge pain. So I never flossed when I had braces. Of course after I got them off I floss but during the half year I had braces I didn't floss at all and the orthodontist thought I did.

Flossing once a week is fine. 2x's is a little better. You won't get gum disease if thats what your asking. but if your gums feel sore, bleed when you brush, or look red and inflamed, you should floss more. You also might want to invest in a water pick it is a lot simpler with braces.

That would be fine to floss once a week. BUT, you'll get food stuck in your teeth & braces. And that will be uncomfortable & will create and odor in your mouth.
What's less than 5 minute a day to floss?

Once a week is not enough. You probably know this already, but there is something called superfloss that you can use with braces. It may help you to save some time. Good luck.
