If your teeth aren't terribly crowded, a spring retainer may help. An orthodontist can tell you if a retainer will correct your problem. I suggest making an appointment for an exam. If you call around you may find an office that doesn't charge for the initial exam. (We don't)

Leave this until your body has stopped growing. Braces change the structure of the face, they also puch the nose back into the face. What is wrong with having a natural face? If your teeth don't hinder your eating and drinking habits then we must have become too vain some where along the line.

Dentistry has come along way baby. Retainers CAN and WILL straighten your teeth. They also have cosmetic dentistry to give you a celebrity smile.

Yes, they are called invisilign. Ask your orthodontist/ dentist, they work so well, my cousin had them, his teeth used to look like he was chewing on rocks, now they look like porcelains. They totally work and are extremely subtle.
