My daughter is 11 months old and she has 8 teeth. She's been teething again and it looks like 2 more are coming in on the bottom. When should she see a dentist? She has a toothbrush and she brushes her teeth herself without toothpaste? Should she be using one of those toddler toothpastes now?

I was wondering why some people have small teeth? My mom has tiny peices of teeth and I have big peices of teeth. Is it have to do with genes? My father has big peices of teeth.

I'm needing to get a crown; but I can't afford it. My insurance will cover half which will come out to me paying about $350 out of my pocket. Which really isn't that bad I guess, but I had my wisdom teeth extracted in January and so all of my insurance for dental is completly used up. My dentist told me I needed to get it as soon as possible before it ends up needing a root canal. I guess my question is... is there anything I can do to help prevent it from getting worse? I won't be able to get it done until after January of next year because of insurance. I try to floss everyday and I do brush at least 2-3 times a day. Is there anything else?

Oh and also - if it does end up needing a root canal will they also have to do the crown afterwards?

Thanks for your help!!

'So I'll wait here with baited breath for an answer'!

Does that mean I have to put some kind of smelly food on my tongue to help entice an nice answer? Does the choice of breath determine the answer? Where has this saying come from?

If you brush your teeth with a regular toothbrush, and without using toothpaste for about an hour a day, can it damage your teeth or your gums?

I know they shrink quite a bit right after the teeth are pulled, but I mean in the long run, do they shrink more from wearing dentures or from not wearing them? Or does it even make any difference?

Firstly why are they called that...? But on a more serious note, I have to get all four of mine taken out. I'm having it done under general anisthetic but two of them are in such bad condition that there is no tooth left below the gum line..... somebody please calm me down, I'm scared sh*tless as they say. I would appreciate an dentists opinion too if there are any on line.

Thanks for any help.

I went to my orthodontist yesterday to change the rubberbands on my braces, an since I got braces, my first orthodontist said I MIGHT need a tooth extraction by the end of the treatment. Since then i got a new orthodontist, and he says that my teeth are fine. He said that the only reason to pull teeth out now is for cosmetic reasons. And the worse thing about this is that my mom kept inisting that I get the extraction to the point that I started to cry when he said that he was going to pull the braces off those teeth to prepare for the extraction. My mom hasn't even asked me about it. She even said that the orthodontist just didn't want to give the service that I needed. It makes me feel really bad to think that she doesn't like my face. I know she's going to ignore me when I tell her I don't want the extraction, so I was just wondering if someone could help by telling me how it works. I would really appreciate it. I'm really scared so knowing the procedure might calm me down a little.

I recently attended the orthodontist last week and she has recommended that I have the damon 3 brace fitted as opposed to the normal one. I am very dubious about this as I feel that she is only recommending this as she knows that I have a fear of dentists. If I opt for the normal one I will have to have 3 teeth removed. However I have tried to reassure that if she thinks that the normal ones are the way to go then Ill just have to get over my fear and get the teeth removed. She has said in her recommendation that she would prefere to fit the upper brace first than about 3 months later fit the lower, the reason for this being I might have to get a lower tooth removed for the damon but she cant say as of yet!! Can someone please tell me of their expereinces with the Damon 3 brace, I have looked up the Website and all of that but I am concerned that having the Damon brace as opposed to the regular one will really broaden my face, as thats the common phrase used "BROAD SMILE" Help please
