I am going in to the dentisit for a scaling and rooting gum procedure which is cleaning between the gums and the teeth at the gumline. If anyone has had this done, I was wondering what the recovery is like. Is it just an irritating pain, what should I expect?

Was the experience successful? If not? what was wrong? Has the fluid leaked out at night causing any damage to the gums or teeth?

I'm 24. My dentist noticed my wisdon teeth were coming out on my last check up, and had some X rays done on mee. The reason I never noticed was because all 4 of them are coming out straight.
I think my facial structure is chaging. Does this happen, or am I just imagining?

Does anyone know if having 2 chronic tooth infections would affect your general health all together?? Would it take longer for your body to fight off other infections like sinus, and cold, ect. Would it make you generally ill, and subject to m,ore colds, flus ect?? I am scheduled to have all my wisdom teeth pulled next week, and then they are going to put me on antibiotics to get rid of the chronic infections, so hopefully that will clear all my sypmtoms up!! I am just concerned b/c I have had more colds this year than any other, and when I get a cold or the flu its really runs me down, and it seems like my body is having a harder time fighting off any bugs.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

the tooth had been shaved a little and taking the crown off would expose the tooth. would it be possible to just fill it in with composite resin until it resembles a real tooth?

Is there ANY way I can get fillings without my mum finding out? I'm 14 and live in Scotland and I have holes in two of my teeth but my mum will go crazy if I tell her and I really don't want her to know. I don't mind going to the dentist by myself to get them, but people have said she needs to sign a consent form before I can get fillings...........could my big brother sign the form? He's 20. I know everyone will say to tell my mum, but honestly, you don't know what she's like, I'll get in so much trouble - she'll stop my allowance and I'll get grounded if she finds out I need fillings :o(
